Hello

Buy it for 3 years until those 2 low quality undersized screws that hold the base on, rot right off! ! ! !
Otherwise the faucet works fine!

I found the two screws under the sink. Could they use larger stainless steel screws?
Too much weight and stress moving the faucet back and forth!

Hope this new one last a little longer!

Anyone else see this problem?

Not this problem, but I had a Moen faucet in the bathtub, and it was such a PITA I swore I'd never own another Moen product. Its worst feature was that at random times, while showering, it would suddenly give out a LOUD screeching noise that would scare the daylights out of whoever was in the shower. I finally tracked it down to the knob you lift to make the shower work (on the spout itself). I replaced the spout, no more noise. You could only adjust the temperature on this one, not the flow. POS!
I prefer Deltas, but they aren't perfect, but very few problems and parts are easy to find and cheap.

Delta's are not trouble free. I had three that I had to replace because they leaked. My two showers both are leaking now and need to be replaced but that means a shower wall rebuild so I just let them leak. I am pretty sour on Delta fixtures. David

I put a Moen in. I took the wife to both the expensive and the box stores and told her to pick the one she liked. I figured she'd be using it for years so the cost would be spread out for a long time. She picked a cheap one and that's the one I put in. I had to replumb the supply under the sink, but that was because the original builder used an odd size and also hard tubed the entire thing in without a shutoff.

So far it's been a good faucet, but it doesn't have the volume the old one did for hot water so something isn't right on the mixing valve. The wife hasn't said anything so I haven't noticed the issue.

Post a pic of the plumbing under the sink and maybe we can see if there is an issue?

I like Delta because they are warrantied for life.

One of my tub spigots was dripping, o rings or whatever were worn. Was going to buy a rebuild kit, but couldn't find one at the hardware store. Guy running the plumbing aisle gave me the 1-800 number to call. Delta sent the parts to me free of charge, no questions asked!

What issue? I haven't seen anything. *whistling*

Actually, when you mentioned the plumbing I thought, "I wonder if I have that shutoff opened all the way?" I just checked it and it was almost closed. It's been something like 2 years that that faucet has been in. *ROTFLMAO*

When I tested the hot water pressure the wife asked, "Is there a leak or something?" I said, "No" and quickly walked away.

;lol

Thankya for the brain jog,
Matt

Another problem solved!

Have you tried replacing the seals AND the ball? Use Delta parts, especially the ball, as others' quality varies.

Moen faucets have unbeatable customer support, US based techs that answer the phone and can handle all your questions. If there is any indication it is a defective part causing the problem, they immediately ship you new one. If they can't tell exactly what the problem is, they ship the highest level assembly or assemblies that could be the culprit. This is for the life of the faucet. There is no charge for any this.

All of our faucets and shower fittings are Moen for that reason.

I put in Blanco faucets in the kitchen about a year ago. Anybody know about longevity for them?
Other house faucets are Moen and Delta.

Same with Delta

Hello

Do you guys think I should remove the screws on the new faucet and go to the hardware store and put in nice strong stainless steel screws?

New faucets have a MUCH lower GPM then old faucets, due to government regulation.

I would. Stainless screws will probably be weaker, but they won't rust. That's my experience, anyway, and it depends on the type of stainless. Try a magnet on the new screws - maybe they're stainless already…?

Contact Moen and see what they are willing to do. you may get a new faucet out of the deal, worth a phone call or Email.

I put Moen's in 2 showers and a sink at least 10 years ago. I replaced all the cartridges soon after they went in. I just did another cartridge on the shower last week. It had been hard to turn on and leaked out the front for years, I didn't want to mess with tt because I thought it was going to be a PITA to fix. But when it died a few weeks ago, it was 15 minutes even with the pull out cartridge breaking off inside. As far as I know they are warranted forever. We call and they mail you anything you want. They seamed bad in the begining but the replacement parts may have been better. Hope they stay around or there may be no fixing them.

When I read this thread I keep thinking of the faucet in the family cabin. It has been there longer than I've been around. Probably since the sink went in in the 50s. Every few years I replace the rubber seat in it. The valves are metal. Someday I'll probably have to replace the whole thing... I'm not looking forward to it.

I had a Moen in my kitchen for about 12 years...Had some issues, but a phone call to Moen always resulted in new parts delivered for free. Can't complain about there customer service! I now have a Delta because that's the one wifey liked (this time).

Moen update: Moen no longer overnights free replacement parts.Last time i called the 800 # it took about 5 days to get the parts.
