Lint Eater: brush at the end of flexible rods that you hook up to your power drill so you can remove ash from the inside of your vent.

Every Ton? I clean my vent/flue once a year.... am I missing something? ?me goes and looks up lint eaters.

I'm burning nations choice but will switch to trumans later this week as it is going to dip down in our first cold wave. Below 25 and I burn the good stuff.

Been burning PA's I purchased in the spring in the Harman. Can't wait to finish them. Dusty and alot of fines...

My venting couldn't go a season the ash build up would destroy the burn. I only have 3" venting and it is almost at the EVL limit for 3" pipe.

With 4" it could go the season.

Cleaning requirements are all ash driven, however the effects of ash loading in the stove affects things long before it will shut the stove down.

Keep'em clean and you'll be safe and warm.

How you like the MWP Pell it ? i tried a bag and didnt think much of them i gave them another try and ended up liking the heat, a little dirty though i guess
was gonna dump the ton but gonna keepem

I finished out last season burning about half a ton and liked them well enough. Decent heat with NO CLINKERS what so ever. ( a refreshing change from the stove chow and newp I went thru before them) I would say average ash for a box store pellet.(aside from the sleepers!) I think the 20+ leftover bags I have been thru this season may have soaked up some humidity in the shed this summer. Maybe because they are not as dense of a pellet. Seem to be lower heat this time around. (maybe its me) I have changed my convection blower since last season so it is not fair to compare my recorded temps!!

I am saving my two bags of Somersets for a colder weather trial. Might be the last two I ever see with you around!!!!!

My dealer, when the stove was installed, said that the vent was fine to be cleaned once a year, I do lightly brush the ESP probe inside the vent tho, with a toothbrush to prevent too much ash buildup.

ummm somersets somersets and somersets kids are gone chasing the ol lady around the house in briefs :p
im confused OMV.who exactly is in briefs and if its the kids chasin your wife who is only wearing her briefs then that is just wrong.the secret is to get the kids out of the house so that YOU can chase her around the house and nobody has to wear briefs.hahaha.stops and punctuations go a long way my friend

Currently 31 degrees outside with a biting wind thats making it feel 21,...green supremes filling my firebox full of flames,..stove set on 3-3,...room temp @ 75,...stove temp near 400,...slowly sheding my cloths..._g

Got about 5 more bags of the chow, then have to make decision.....do I bring in more of the nasty CleanFires from the shed and burn them until the real cold hits, or just go immediately to the GT, Somersets, Ligs, and Barefoot I have in the basement??

What to do, what to do.....

Still burning the wood fiber pellets. 4 bags left then never again. they give out good heat, but man o man the ash. We will definately be cleaning our vent out next weekend.

Oh the inhumanity.

About an 80/20 corn/pellet(Indeck) mix in the furnace. Just fired it up on a low and slow steady burn for overnight. Somersets in the CPM on t-stat for backup.

Green supremes from last year. Saving the Dry Creek for the colder weather. Want to put up another ton soon and cant decide between Dry Creek(230), green supreme(220) or MWP(210). What the opinion around here?

33 deg. here with a wind. Cleaned stove this afternoon and shes loaded with Drycreeks. Running along on HR 2 and me and the dogs are lovin it.

Schoondog

It's 34 here in central Ct. Been burning some Energex American pellets. The heat is good but the ash does build up kind of quick. Much better than payin the oil man!

Burn MWP SOFTWOOD

(the MWP Blend is only good for horse bedding IMO)
Well the blend has been keeping me and two floors of my home warm since early October. I have no complaints! And for the price, this will probably be a full season pellet for me, not just shoulder. Although I did buy a ton of MWP softies.
