I have purchased a lux tx1500e for my ecochoice cab50 pellet stove. Have major issues with this thermostat. User friendly I think not. I purchased it for its 2 degree swing so my stove would not cycle as much. At this point I'm ready to go with a regular digital thermostat that only has the 1 degree swing in either direction. I have set all the programs calibrated the temp which is still not correct. I can not win with this thing. Lux customer service is not user friendly also. They called me back on a saturday which was nice but when I didn't get the call I had to wait till monday and I am unable with my job to pick up the phone and talk when they feel it's best to call me back. Any insights on this thermostat or the lux mechanical that comes with my stove (anticipator) on the lux how to adjust. Any info would be great!

Sorry to hear you're having problem....unusual though, as many of us on the forum have Lux units and almost never see an issue with them. The fact that they called you back on a SATURDAY after a MAJOR HOLIDAY isn't bad....and the fact that YOU didn't answer the call isn't THEIR fault. How many other companies will call you on a SATURDAY at all? Not many, I'm sure.

That said, I must ask....what is the problem with it? You really didn't say what it doesn't do, except for "major issues" and calibrating the temp. No mention of what "major issues" are since you don't say, and not sure why you'd want to calibrate it anyway......they are pretty well calibrated right from the factory.

OK, so besides the calibration, please list all of the "major issues".

ok.. Sorry about leaving some things out. It was late. The lux mechanical? What should the anticipator be set at? The lux tx1500e. swing is set at 8 for 2 degree both ways. Temp set at 74. On at 72 off at 76. Not doing that. on at 73 and off at 76. Weird. Temp calibration easy enough to do but not matching other thermometers in same room right next to thermostat. Thermostat said 76 but thermometer said 74. Is there an override to just keep it running and I can up the temperature and it stays that way if I want it warmer rather than going through the programs. Wondering if thermostat more sensitive to the temperature than the thermometer. Also I think placement is an issue. When I had the lux mechanical on a hallway wall out of the direct line of the stove it would not cycle without dropping 10 degrees. Move it closer to stove and it cycles more frequently but not reading correct temp as the room. What should be the correct placement of ANY thermostat? Also the call back from lux was prior to the holidays. Had nothing to do with the holidays. I just wish to be able to speak to them directly without having to wait for a call back. I hope this makes sense.

Just wondering if you read the instructions? If you want it warmer all you have to do is press the up arrow and it will hold that setting until the next program change. Press hold and it will hold the temperature setting forever.

Thanks. I got an email response from lux today that I had sent last week. Was able to chat back and forth and he explained a few more things and made them simple compared to the instructions as to what the hold was. I am happy happy happy now and working like a CHARM!!!!!! Even told my parents about it. They just bought a Quadrafire Classic bay 1200 insert. Goes in this weekend. Thank you all for the fantastic support!!!!!!!! Not enough thank you's can be given!
