My local Lowe's has Green Supreme at 209/ton, but Green Team "Platinum" at 5.20/bag (no quantity discount). I used regular Green Teams last year and got plenty of heat (too much heat most times). Are the Green Team Platinum worth the extra cost? I've read that they're the same pellet as the regular GT but that Lowe's is charging a higher price because they say "Platinum" on the bag.

BTW they also have Presto-Log, North American, and Timber Heat brands at 209/ton. Curious about those brands as well.

GreenE Team (notice the "E" at the end) are the same as Greene Gold and Greene Platinum. I am burning Golds now and think they are a good pellet. Green Supreme (no "E") are a different brand altogether, and some find them not as good as the Greenes. Others swear by them as giving a good bang for the buck.

Green Supremes are the same as NEWP. Moderate heat, lots of ash. Green Teams are far better(more heat/less ash) but run about $50 a ton more at Lowes than the Supremes.

Green Team > Green Supremes but at the price I wouldn't do it. So now that you are at the $209 price go with the Presto-Logs.

I'd go with the Presto Logs myself....

Green Supremes (NEWP) are not as good and GT's are good, but not at that price!!!

I have burned both "GREENS" and wouldnt waste my money on either again...defenitely go with the Press to Logs.

I think Timberheats are rebagged Dry Creeks. The plant address on the bag is the same. They seem similar to Stove Chow to me, decent heat but a little dusty.

Thanks, guys. I'll save my money and go with the Prestos. The VP of the local Lowe's is a pretty nice guy, and a wood and pellet burner to boot. I asked him and he said he liked the Prestos a lot (and hated the Supremes). Just thought I'd run it by you guys before I got two ton delivered. I'd rather throw the extra $100 at cigars anyway, because I really love the way they burn.

Preston's by far...I would rate them as hot as the Somersets
