Any idea what may cause the right side baffel plate to crack and warp right next to the pellet feed drop?

I can think of several things.

Did the crack start in one of corners?

Is the baffle steel?

How high is the flame on high burn?

What year is the stove?

Yes in the corners and is not much more than the corners, yes it is steel, flame heights vary but mostly 2 to 4 inches above burn pot, is always burned on medium settings and stove was put in service in September of 2008 (new stove 2008). I will post pics when I get home to give everyone an idea. I suspect I am not the only Quad owner that has this issue. My wife tells me I'm the one who broke it by cleaning it too much.

Tell your wife it was nothing to do with cleaning at all and likely due to number of things some of which would go all the way back to the foundry that made the metal the baffles were cut from.

Would love to but as you might have already guessed, they are out of business. Looks like I will be making new ones through a fabricator I know or buying them from someone else. Ouch.

Does the crack have any detrimental effects on the stove in your opinion?

find the closest Quad dealer or bend away. Free to me is better than making one.

I found a new dealer that replaced the old. Seeing that you are a dealer for pellet stoves any suggestions on how to appraoch the new dealer for in warranty replacement parts? I'm sure some level of begging and groveling will be involved.

Pics Added above. May not be worth worrying about. Perhaps a tack weld on the back side with my mig welder might be just as good. What do you think?

Take the plate to him with your original invoice and ask him for some assistance. I am sure he does not have them on the shelf but he can order it for you.

Looks like a heat assisted stress crack, likely when forming that slot they nicked the corners.

Normal practice would be to drill a small hole at the end of the crack to relieve the stress before attempting any repair of the crack so the crack doesn't continue on while you are figuring out how to fix it. But seeing as there could be quite a bit of prolonged application of heat in that area I'd try for a replacement If you talk to the dealer you know of, tell him you'll be happy to pick up the pieces when they arrive and do your own replacement, in other words he only needs to order the replacement parts under warranty and not need to do the work.

Let us know how things turn out.

Thanks guys. I will talk to them and post when the issue is resolved. Thank you for your help.

As promised an update that the issue has been resolved. After taking Smokey's and Eric's advice, bringing pics and serial number of the damaged plates to the dealer 2 weeks ago, I received a call yesterday from the Norwood dealer that my replacement Baffel Pates are in and ready to be picked up under warranty. Thanks so much guys!!!!!
