Worked all day getting the cherrys cut, left one big leaner until I can get some help from a friend who used to cut trees for a living, now tomorrow I'll haul and when I get them hauled I'll split em before the snow flies. My property is surrounded by 33000 acres of parkland, with no access to JQPublic, hence ,I'm in deer ,turkey and squirrel heaven. Also riverbottom which is deer highway, some huge brutes have been harvested here.

man oh man.....sounds like hunters heaven, not to mention a great place for those of us that "don't play well with others". i had a sister-in-law that lived in woodsfield ohio, just north of the wayne national forest.....her husband used to get some real brutes from the river valley and surrounding areas. nice country.

I can smell that cherry from here. Seems like the rain, dampness intensifies the smell. Very nice.

ohlongarm, you'll like that Cherry, nice job.

That is about the largest our cherry trees grow here but they make for some easy cutting and splitting.

Nice work ohlongarm. I wish we had some Cherry on our property. But the Ash will work. I just cut some more today. But it wasn't enough to take a pic of. :( I am trying to clean things up a bit while I am cutting. Takes too much time away from cutting though.

2 trips and you were done..............should get a good 1/2 cord out of that though
A half a cord runs in my stove for 3 months providing plenty of heat, nevertheless I won't turn it down.

Looks like a haunted forest long, see all the orbs? Maybe I watch too many ghost shows on tv

love cherry. smells nice, good btu's, seasons fast (1 year)

i've had big green cherry rounds that were demoralizing to split so i wouldn't bet its easy splitting wood but those rounds look pretty clean and straight.

Can be a little spooky back in there real isolated, quiet almost surreal.

Ya, somehow I never felt spooky when in the woods. More like feeling right at home.

OLA, when you spend more time in the woods, it will feel more comfortable for you. I know it is scarry for you now, but that will all go away. It is only a woods.
Yea it's so scary living back in the woods, 22 years, 1000 feet off the road so dark at night can't see your hand in front of your face, with nothing around but deer, turkey squirrels coyotes, makes me wonder how I lasted back here so long ,when the fear becomes overwhelming I'll move to the city.

Nice, I love the smell of cherry when you are cutting and splitting it.
