Well I added to the stack of beech today. It is a bit oversized so It will be split down more which means more wood ::-) ;ex The only downside was my stupid trailer hub blew again but for 25 bucks to pack it for a trip yielding close to 2 full cord it was totally worth it.

Pete, I see you changed locations for this wood! Hopefully no light fingers will take any.

Well the bins are still behind the garage so I used the fence line because they are to big right now. I will split from the fence line and put the splits into the bins. My yard is so small that I don't think it matters much where I put it if they want it they will take it sadly.

2 cords is a nice score.

Looks like you got some wet snow. Plan to cover the top?

I don't quite understand blew the trailer hub & $25 to pack it?
New bearing & race? Just packed with grease?

The "again" part makes it sound like maybe a bent axle

Ya new bearings 3 times and races last time so I am convinced its time for an axle finally. I am stubborn lol.

I could lend ya Mack for month or so. Probably solve the theft problem.==c As far as that trailer hub, I'm guessing you're right, it must have a slight bend/tweak in there somewhere. That's a bummer. A C

Ok. So there is a wood hoarders club. That's pretty cool because my brother called me Woodhawk so I called him Woodhawk Jr. lol.

American beech is found within an area from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia west to Maine, southern Quebec, southern Ontario, northern Michigan, and eastern Wisconsin; then south to southern Illinois, southeastern Missouri, northwestern Arkansas, southeastern Oklahoma, and eastern Texas; east to northern Florida and northeast to southeastern South Carolina. A variety exists in the mountains of northeastern Mexico.

Nice piles Pete! We have Beech on our property and I like it a lot. Good to work with and burns nice too.

Nice job Pete. Big beech has a tendency to be hollow in the center but still real good wood. Are those pallets your wood is stacked on? Lol...;)

Yea Dennis, you met him, He'll get your attention if you're doing something you shouldn't be. He seems to instinctively know when something is amiss. Usually He'll back em into a corner so you've got ample time to draw a good bead. A C

I have no doubts about that A C.

You hauled 2 cords in one trip with what sounds like a single axle trailer?

Beech is roughly 4000lbs a cord.
