Should I buy it with the 24" bar and get the 28" separate for the versatility?
Should I get the skip tooth for the 28" even though it is rated to handle 28" full.

I got this bug bad !!!

Thanks,
Bruce

I just went with the 576 and opted for 20 and 28. I had a 24 on my 359 and just feel a 24 is a bit cumbersome for the smaller bar length. 20s are great firewood processing bars; fast, easy to move around in smaller stuff. Just my 2 cents. I ordered the 28 on the saw and bought the 20 afterwards. Lots of options for 20 inch bars. I went Oregon prolite with full chisel.

I have the 455 rancher with the 20" on it and the 435xt with the 16" on it.
Still playing around with bar combinations.

So what do I do with the 455 if I put the 20" on the 372. From what I am reading, the 372 is nicely balanced with the 24" bar on it.

go 20" and 28". Forget about that 24". Not too much you cannot cut with a combo of 20" and 28". Trust me.

I have LOTS AND LOTS of bars and chains. The one that pretty much stays on my saw constantly is the 28". Don't have to bend over for branches, it'll cut a MONSTER tree with relative ease (28" times two equals 56", have you ever cut a 56" tree before?)

The 20" gets broken out for cutting up some deadfalls, but I REALLY love the 28" for my everyday bar......

I run a 24" and 32" full comp on my 372, but that may just be because I have the 61/268 to run a 20".

It is nicely balanced with a 24".

Tough call here, especially because you have a 20" on the 455 already

20" full comp,28" full skip is what I'd go for. 20" handles 80% of my everyday cutting chores.

Personally , my 372 rips with a 20" bar . It was good with the 24" ,but just seemed happier with the 20" . Mind You , it's ported ,and running an 8 pin sprocket.
Husqvarnas seem to like to breath a bit , Stihls seem to like to grunt .

Another vote for 20" full comp & 28" skip. You wont even bother with the 455 unless you pinch the 372. We'll see how bad you've got CAD when you start looking to off the rancher in favor of a 346XP or something similar.>> A C

Yep..... :)

Put a 16" on it.

You would dare go that long??? >>

Anything shorter than a 24 inch bar on a 372xp would be a waste of torque, IMO. PNW long bars talking here, but really a 28 would be just fine on that saw, full comp or skip. Then again, the 372 I had was a 74cc model, and not the 71cc.

If you are in a twist about it, I would go with the 24. You can always get a 20 or a 28 down the road depending on your wants/needs.

Hi Guy's!

Have not been around in a while but still in the game! Ended up with the 372xp and got all 3 bars, 20" 24" & 28". May the best combo win!
BTW, this saw is an animal:)

Thanks for the help!!

Congrats
You can tackle the big stuff & have the 20" for most of your needs.
The picture is on the way ? :)
