Around end of last season one batch gave me clinkers but then they seemed to be "ok" on a different batch, Based on good price from lowes I bought 4 tons back in May.

Boy, I have to shut down daily to remove the massive clinker..!! I still have 2 tons, anyone wants to trade...:p

..

If you were closer to me I'd come grab at least a ton......for the right price. :)

I might be interested in taking some off your hands.

Bummer, Stinks when ya have to struggle like that with a pellet. Hopefully one of the gang here can work out a trade with ya.

Try some of the pres-to-logs HD has lately? Been doing pretty decent in my stove.

almost, lol...

What do you have ?
I don't have anything to trade, but I would be willing to buy some of your stash if we can agree on a reasonable price. My Mt Vernon really likes Greene Teams.

hey buddy.

I cannot believe the GT is creating such a massive clinker, works better on my little Santa Fe, I will try to stop by BT tomorrow morning 'cause I want to try the
EasyBlaze softies and the maine wood softies to see how I like them.

I cannot believe the GT is creating such a massive clinker,
The GT's burn a little messy in my PDVC, especially when the thermostat puts it in smolder mode. The ash just sits in the fire pot and sticks together. The Mt Vernon produces fluffy ash except for the very small crust that makes it into the ash pan. Since I do most of my heating with the Mt Vernon, I put up with the mess in the PDVC which is used to heat my workshop.

I hear ya, the Quads are a very good unit IMO since they're multifuel.

picture of the clinker...::-)

I just burned my first bag of GT 2 nights ago and got same result...solid rock in bottom of pot the next morning. It also took several attempts (e-2 code) to get the fire going initially and the heat was only ok...not impressed.

not sure if you're still interested. I still have around 65 bags of GT and think I could either sell or trade 40~50 bags.

.

Teams have been good to me, from southington lowes.. 3 tons last year, and 3 more for fun this year...

When they started gauging I said f them, 30 pack money on top of the inflated price is a sexy ton from bt

Burning the end of the '12 GT. Not as good as years before. Heat is not there and a bit more ash. Will only buy if there is nothing else is available and they are cheap.

We have the Napoleon NPS40, the freestanding version of your stove. I'm looking at the back of your firebox, around the pellet chute opening. I don't mean to bust your chops, but based on our experience, you're burning dirty. Black soot, daily clinker... how does your glass look by the time you shut down to remove the clinker? Is it light brown, light gray or is the soot deposit on the glass black as well? When was the last time you cleaned out the exhaust vent side of the stove? It's not as easy with inserts, I imagine. We have a direct vent out the side of the house. I take the Shop Vac outside, remove the directional exhaust cap from the end of our vent pipe and run the long hose from the Shop Vac all the way up into the stove, vacuuming as I go. Other people here use the leaf blower trick (I have no idea how that might work with an insert.) Just a thought, before you start selling off pellets, try cleaning out the exhaust side of the stove.
