EPA to regulate soot pollution

I think you meant dropping the soot level allowance, no? From the sounds of the article, those with properly running wood phase 2 EPA stoves should be ok.

Yes that right ill edit that.
 
From 15 units currently to 12. Might impact some woodburners (this will make the threshold for no burn days lower), but I think the prob regions were mostly in SoCal.

If you read it you will see that it does not set standards for any particular source. It places responsibility on the states for attainment of the new lowered levels in total emissions. Most likely is that more states will require that wood stoves be compliant with the current EPA standard for stoves. It is just like the automobile pollution rules. Non-attainment areas have to develop plans to lower emissions. Our county requires tailpipe emissions testing while the county that starts eight miles from my house does not.
 
My harman already has very low emissions ,lower than any of my other stoves.
