In The Woods
I took some bark, junk wood from in back of the fireplace to the wood dump before it froze in, with all the rain we received last week the brook is running pretty good.

Pic 6552 is looking down from the wood dump, pic 6554...the dead tree in the middle of the pic the eagle usually is in when it's around the brook.

Looks like it is pretty wet zap. I wish the creek that runs on our property was more like yours. It just makes it nice back there.

It's sloppy back in certain areas, we've had alot of rain/sleet and snow in the last week & a half. We had some winds last night but nothing today.

I think tomorrow I'll burn the stuff I limbed up last Sunday.

We got more rain than snow. It started as snow but very quickly turned to rain. Then as usual, right at the end it turned back to snow. Been below freezing since and that is the forecast. Maybe we can get some frost in the ground now. Still have not put the snow plow on. Could this be one of those years we don't plow snow? I doubt it but don't expect to do much.

I might be plowing tomorrow, if we get the winds then I won't be burning.

In the first picture where it's wet & muddy I'll be cleaning that out this coming spring or summer then fill it back in with pine needles. The guy who use to take care of the trails before we bought it through a bunch of smaller dead wood in one spot (real rough) the pine needles will make it nice.

Looks nice Zap.. We got the same over here right now and calling for the bottom to drop off tomorrow ;)

Out for a bow hunt tonite

Looks nice Loon, hunting coyotes? I'll be pushing some snow tomorrow morning, the wife went across town and back, when she came back I was told it was tough going for the old Envoy coming up the driveway.

The Storm that just rolled through here ( Milwaukee) Which is now on the eastern side of Michigan and impacting the eastern third of the country. did a pretty good number on various areas. Being close to the big lake Kept my immediate vicinity from being buried in 15-20" of wet, heavy, can't pick up a small a shovel full, Chokes a snow blower, dandruff of Mother Nature. Areas further out Got hammered some are still with out power. Here it was 70% rain, 20% sleet, and 10% snow. The kind of stuff that when plowing ,if you stop in a run , it is instantly glued in place. Push in to a pile and watch the water run out the bottom. As is normal here this type of storm is followed by and arctic blast, ( peak wind gusts of 75 mph) so if you did not get it cleaned up pronto it isn't going anywhere soon. 15 hours behind the wheel of my big truck , 3600 lbs of de-icer ( in 50 lbs bags) through my spreader, 3000 milligrams of buffrin later, I now have to go repair a damaged hydraulic line before Tuesday when the next event is predicted. Oh yea Tree down on corner of lot from wind , but its got to warm up some for these old bones before I can go play. ( like in the high 20'sF)

We received around 10 inches of snow (more coming). With the wet slush underneath it made for some heavy chit but the Ford Super Duty 250 pushed it without a problem.

Tomorrow I'll throw the chains on the Rhino then make some tracks to the wood stacks, once I get that done I plan on a outside fire.

What type of wood did you have in the back?

Do you burn the brush/limbs in big bon fires this time of the year.
You should have a few good brush piles to have fun burning :)

Just some burning in the outside fireplace, I do need an area on the land I cut on so we can burn brush in the winter, I might have something for next year.

I have the spot but need to get some downed basswood cleaned up.
