This is the first real full load in the King this season, splits 10 inches wide, and a huge locust round along with some filler pieces, white oak left to right, locust far right bottom, and locust twigs on top about 80lbs.I'll be warm till tomorrow at this time. Instant ignition on a 2 in. bed if hot ashes.

Rock on! Did you weigh it?

Nevermind. I actually read your post instead of just looking at pictures.

Thats a big load of good wood, starting to get cold, Ive broken out the oak too, saving the locust for below 10 degrees.
Looks like you could fit a couple more small pieces on top.

Actually I did, just made 76lbs,could have packed a few more twigs in but didn't maybe next time.

You need to get a tape measure with markings on it...:)

Very nice load.

Cool, six splits to fill the king means those splits are huge. I can fit almost a dozen "regular" splits in the princess.

Awesome......gotta love when you can just park the truck at the back of the stove and pack the whole damm load in it!
I love the burn time on those BK's!

That load should last at least until New Years.

For just six splits them are massive.

Big splits for sure! Do you have a lot of ash in the stove? I "thought" the King had 9 inches below the door, enough room for another layer of splits.

Well your certainly not a slave to the stove,,,,load it and forget it! Doesn't get any better then that! I'm having a taste of that myself,,,, cat stoves are sweet!!!!!!!!

Nice load. I've run into some larger splits in my shed that I'm burning but not quite as big as those. Seems to me size doesn't matter with this stove, whether I load it up full with 6 splits or 12 splits I can still get over 24 hours.

The King does have 9 in below the door ,I had about 2 in of ash in the stove, remember those splits ,some are 10 in wide and almost as deep.PS I will post pics and stove and cat temps at the 20 hour burn of that load.

Okay I can't wait for 20 hrs cuz we gotta leave for the rest of the day,but here's the dogs load after 18 hrs, still producing heat house at 73,cat at 400 stovetop about the same,I'm going to throw these 4 little twigs ,shown here and turn the stove to 1.5 till tonite.PS the homesaver thermostat is within 10* of my IR gun.My wood racks next to stove hold .30 of a cord I've burned 2 racks since Sept. the racks shown is #3. Not bad IMHO.
