boy i'll tell ya what....last night we had winds here that blew away "no pun intended" hurricane Sandy

thought the roof was gonna come off...luckily the power stayed on

We had two days of the 60 mph wind gusts and nights of the cold temps but no snow. The tied down top cover on my next two years stacks didn't stand a chance. Now they tell us a "wintery mix" tomorrow but up to two inches of rain coming the day after Christmas. I don't want that flood but also don't want what will happen if frigid air dips down and joins it. !!!

With this next system (Thursday for us) they are calling for possible coastal flooding with the high winds, not sure what we will get.

Couple of years ago our monitoring system at the river house called and reported a 35 degree temp by the water line in the cellar. Thinking that the furnace was out, I called for service. Tech got there and said the furnace was fine - it was -5 with north winds of 50.
