Wife got me (and her) a pair of elbow high gloves. She did all the research and made the choice. Have to admit I was happy with the thought of eliminating the burn possiblity. Tried them on and the only problem was the pain I felt as the glove slid over the 3rd degree burn on my wrist. Dam hook on the handle got me good a couple days ago. You know you lost when the burn is indented. Hopefully the last of that. Merry Christmas all.

Does steel targets and a extra heavy duty hunting poncho count? ;)

The wife came through...

The Gransfors Bruks is just too cool and the I am told the Silky Katana boy can hold it's own against a chain saw even if I can't ;lol. Considering all my scrounges have been done with a bow saw this should be an upgrade. Chain saw is next but I love hand tools.

I got enough socks and undies to hold me for the next two years, at least. Thanks hun. But she did make me an awesome calendar starring my son so she is forgiven. ;)

Mom sent over a pair of carhartt work pants (awesome) and bibs (lookout snow, here I come) so I'll be warm this winter, even outside.

Got a pair or magnetic tow lights for the splitter's occasional over-the-road journey. Been looking for a decent set of LED tow lights but everything I've found has been lousy quality or way too much $$ for what I need. The ones I got are incandescent but I think I'll give 'em a run since they are a brand I like many other products from.

The winner however is my very good friend (like a father to me really) who gave me a fitted Stihl hat, all mesh (I love these things for the summer), not the cheapo nylon mesh (think trucker hat) either. And followed with a new set of Snap-On Flank-Drive Plus wrenches, which after he got me the metric set last year, I am absolutely enamored with.

Well, I think that the potential son in law has figured me out. There was an electric chain sharpener under the tree for me. I have been sharpening chains for more than 20 years by hand so I am going to be testing it out on chains that are near
the end of their lives first. More importantly the future son in law knows what language I speak and likes tools and working hard so that is far more important than the gift itself.

On another note I am feeling some serious withdrawal from our woodstove and fireplace while we are hoteling it for a family
Christmas 10 hours away from home. I set the electric furnace as low as I could without risking freezing pipes n the corners of our home while we are gone.

According to the BK crowd if you had one you could have gotten by on 3 small splits, maybe four :) . I wouldn't know.

Santa must have missed me somehow yesterday, and swang back around Diamond today cause there are two more saws out in my garage....................................... What a guy!

Sure does if you use it to clean up the saws & splitter after use.

I like the weight of small saws. But I like the Pull of Big Saws!! ;)

I wish I'd have gotten that compressor, have to get a new one before spring to start spraying gel coat on my Boston Whaler restoration project. Gee, maybe I need to start looking for a nice one that I can trade a saw for!

New Bears "T" shirt & hat from Mom in Pittsburgh &

Stihl 9 layer - 32" chaps form Wife & Granddaughter

No, thanks for pointing it out, I've been concentrating on Stihls so much I haven't searched for anything else. I looked it up, but I see he has no photos, I'm always leary of ads with no photos. Wants $325 for it too. I spent exactly that much this afternoon for two stihls mentioned above. Both run really nice. The 036 looks "ok", new covers would make it look real nice, the 029 Super looks "Super" as is. That puts them at $162.50/each. I'm hoping for a flood of used saws hitting Cl the next few days from all the guys who got new ones for Christmas.

This was my big Christmas present this year.
cl 149 11-12 a.jpg
Cub Cadet 149. Built in 1973. 14 hp Kohler, hydro drive and lift. Came with a 48" deck and 42" snow thrower. Its kinda rough but runs great. I just had to replace a $7 bushing and adjust the speed control linkage to get it ready to throw some snow....or haul some firewood.

Fiskars X7 hatchet.
