Looking at a couple Lopi stoves, 1 is a 2007 model liberty used for 1000.00 or a brand new in the crate lopi Republic 1750. for 1000.00 also I am heating 1300 sq ft
Was wondering how well these stoves hold & which one would recommend. New comes with the 300.00 tax credit I believe.
I live in south east KY.
Thanks

What are you winters like? I have had the liberty for 3 years and it is a heating monster. I am heating 2400 sq ft and it keeps it between 85 and 90 degrees even in single digit temperatures. The liberty is way to much stove for a 1300 sq ft house unless you want to be running around your house naked. I would stick with the 1750. Burn times on the 1750 are still between 8 and 12 hours. There are a lot of satisfied 1750 owners on here. They should be responding soon

New to wood stoves, I am thinking 1750 is probably better for me. Also it is brand new with warranty.

Not as cold as Ohio, But still gets down in teens regular basis in winter. Dec,Jan, Feb & Mar

Yeah the Liberty is way too much stove for that space.

These stoves are built like tanks. My dealer has ran her liberty in the showroom basically wide open all the time for the last 6 years and never had a problem. My liberty runs at 700 to 750 stove top temp for the last 3 years and no problems either. Is the 1750 coming from a dealer? My dealer was listing them for around $1700 I think with legs but then again my dealer is known for being a little on the pricey side.

Coming from dealer & comes with legs & blower. Inventory clearance sale.

$1000 for stove, legs, and blower is amazing. Usually blower is an extra $250-300. All that plus tax credit I would say go ahead and get it!!!

I have the 1750 from avalon. The same though, both are from Travis industries the only difference is the door. I am in Michigan and heat a 1100 sq ft ranch with it. Haven't turned on the furnace since October. Go with the republic you won't be disappointed. PM me if you want to do some performance tweaks.

I second this. We paid more than that for sure, can't recall exactly but north of $1500.

You should be fine with the Republic. We have no furnace and heat with ours.

We have a lopi liberty pre-epa. Works just fine in our 1910's drafty home about your size. All depends on what you want your stove to do. Since your a bit South of my temps, you maybe needing a smaller stove. Liberty's can get a might hot! DSC01632.JPG

You may already know this, but the tax credit will only by 10%, up to $300. Based on what you said, I believe you'd only qualify for ~$100.
