House drain pipes that is.

I am a landlord and have had a long time problem that was resolved the other day. We have a sink drain that has been blocking up for 4 years. Its after the garbage disposal and before the can trap in the basement where the problem is. We would snake it out once a year or so and move on.

This time it was really blocked so i cut the pipe to find out what was going on. The sawzall cut through the first cut no problem...but the second was giving me all kinds of problems. I finally got through and found this inside! Both were cut in half.

Problem solved.

These had been in there a long time as there was no way they would have made it past the garbage disposal.

Never a dull day.

This might not have helped in your situation, but... I had a problem drain, real slow running. Tried all kinds of drain cleaners from basic lye all the way up to sulfuric acid, no luck. Snake went down about 15' and stopped; I think it wouldn't go around a bend. Tried plunging, and one of those deals that hook up to a hose, still no joy. Finally I tried my wet or dry shop vac, lots of gurgling as it sucked on the drain, then "POOM" and the sound changed. Looked in the vac tank and there was... stuff... can't say exactly what other than a couple of coins, but the drain is running free now.

Never a dull day!!!! awesome punnage.

Most exciting thing I've found is a part of a plastic toy in a trap under a bathtub. I only discovered it because the old trap froze and cracked in the crawlspace.

That's a great idea! I have not tried the shop vac in a drain clog situation...next time I will give it a go before taking out the saw.

Dominican trainwreck...i mean...wait...what are talking about?

At home, a Bob the Builder plastic toy was flushed by my son when he was about 3 years old. Plunger could not get it through. Went and bought a manual auger and pushed it down the stack. It lodged in the floor trap in the basement and caused a sewerage backup. Rooter guy came out and sent Bob his way. Bob the Builder cost about $2.00, his trip to the crap factory about $250.00.

At work, septic guy was cleaning a 25,000 gallon holding tank and got a clog in the end of the hose. When the guy pulled the hose and yanked the blockage, he had a black latex body suit hanging off the meat hook. We were all dying laughing. Don't ask, I don't know how it got there, and I really don't want to know who it belong to.;sick How many guys carry meat hooks on their trucks to their jobs?
