well, bigger ain't worse, at least not in the pellet multiverse. Apples to apples, I say get the biggest stove that's in your budget. You may not need the P-68 (I affectianately refer to as "the big gun") but so what? It makes other people jealous.

Maniac.... First of alll...Daaaaammmm Brah- Throw a period or two in your posts from now on. I had to send this to the CIA to be decoded. ==c
As far as buying a stove and jealously and all that...Just do what any reasonable person in similar circumstances would do. Canvas the neighborhood, see who has what for their pellet stoves, and make sure you buy the biggest and best one of all of your neighbors. I mean, having a better stove than your neighbors is really all it's about...Right?:) Now settle down, grab yourself a Keystone Light, and rest easy that you own a Harman. There may be a tie or two, but ain't nobody in your neighborhood gots you beat in the stove department! Bottoms up!

I'll oblige, you are crazy.

Oh about sizing a stove?

Extra heating ability can come in handy when you need it, otherwise you might resort to burning other stuff and be angry as a result.

You will need to ask the wife.......

P43 is only slightly smaller than the XXV(43K to 50K). Not much real difference there! Order up the P61 or P68 if ya wanna roast!

I have lived with almost enough with my Quad/bigE to having more than needed and its like owning a sports car. I'll never need it all, But sure cool knowing I have it to dust of the cold even on the coldest days. More is better IMHO.

Maybe your problem is the Cubex (I know, sacriledge to most), my stove doesn't like them. Have your tried other pellets and have you REALLY cranked that stove up?

My bucket of parts has zero issues with Cubex.

You Harman owners seem to have a lot of issues.

Stove's too noisy, too hot, not enough heat, too much ash in the ash bin, failing esps, room probes that evidently are cat chew toys, gummy stoves, speed bumps, wimpy brushes, and now being pellet picky.

I just don't know about you types.

Oh NO....that can't be Smokey. As we all know, (and are told on a daily basis by the Harman owners), they are the Rolls Royce of pellet stoves, and could NEVER have any problems.....you MUST have mis-read their posts. For what they cost, problems are impossible.

lol good one. :) The bottom line is there isn't a stove made that won't have issues at some point. Some are self inflicted, other's aren't. As for the Cubex, I said that based on 5 bags I burned last year, and I know other's complained about them last year as well. They didn't perform any better than any of the other pellets I burned last year. For the money I would have expected they would.

I have a couple tons sitting in the bunker from 2010 that will burn your face off if you get too close to the stove, leave a nice light deposit of white ash as opposed to those shoulder pellets you are burning and now you know why a few of us always tell people to try before getting large amounts of any pellet and that they change in quality.

If anyone wonders why I'm poking at you Harman owners burning MWP and dissing Cubex, I suggest you talk to one of your own by the member name of SparkyDog IIRC who claims that MWP is only good for use in the driveway and that he is never going to stray from Cubex again.

Hey Smokey,2010 was a great year for Cubex. It was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand and had to outsource for fiber. The 2012 batch ain't so hot.I'm a Fireside Ultra convert my friend.

Now settle down, grab yourself a Keystone Light....

I hope there isn't ANYONE here with standards that low......come to think of it there was that Busch Light thread.

The last time I burned a layer of those (5 bags) they stunk that was back in 08 while testing locally available pellets. Just goes to prove the point about testing before buying and not locking a particular brand out of the running forever. The first Cubex I burned was in 2009 and those were also excellent.

Nothing is more important than being or owning the biggest baddest mothertrucker available, nothing!
