I keep cherry up at the house for cold times too. Throw one or two splits in right over the coals to get it going good, then the mulberry takes over for the real heat.

OK, I didn't think of that. I like Cherry for that, too. Burns pretty quick and hot, and coals up nice. It also seems to get lots of flame burning in the top of the box. Actually, I've been burning a lot of medium woods so far, with just a couple splits of good stuff to stretch out the end of the burn.
 
Cherry? That's no big gun...that's just this side of poof wood. ==c

Two year b.locust and three year old red oak to ignite it. I wonder why they don't use black locust in fission reactors. LOL
