Loaded and hauled this home this morning before church. New chain on the Husky yesterday and it was just tearing up the wood. Cut 2 loads like this but had a date with the wife yesterday afternoon. Headed out early and got this loaded and hauled home. Gave the new shocks a good workout.

Yes Thistle that's white ash. No ash borer here yet but have about 4 good size trees that were pushed over with the dozer last spring.

Wow! Nice job BEFORE church.
How did the date with the wife go?

Key word, "YET" to the dirty ash borer!! Just NE Ohio so I am guessing it won't be long. A live ash tree in Michigan has gone the way of the dinosaur - unfortunately. Suffice it to say, you will be cutting and burning a lot more ash in the years ahead.

The Ford is sitting lovely. Nice piles in the background too. Nice work.

Wow, that's a lot of wood in the back there — good thing you got those new shocks in the pickup.

You have any help loading that? — that's a sweet haul. All nice and sweaty before church?

Praise indeed! Nice score, esp. w/ash nonetheless.

Good date with the wife Aussie. Part of it was spent at a restaurant we hadn't been to for awhile....dessert black rasberry pie and ice cream.
Yes Bob I am sure the borer will arrive sometime. I think some parts of Ohio already have it.
No help Old Lumber and had to wheel barrow it about 30 yards because I was afraid to get the truck too close, ground was a little soft. Probably the biggest load I have put on the F-150 since putting it together.....load of hickory may have been a little heavier though.

truck is looking good, LP! I love to see a truck with a good load in it like that. Love burning ash, too. One of the best out there.

Thanks Scotty
I had that truck for about 3 years. I think it must have come from the south at some point because the cab, and frame were solid but the bedsides and fenders were rusty and the rear end was gone. She's not perfect now but should serve me well for awhile.
I thought of Bogydave when I was putting the last few pieces on "don't mind the mule load the wagon"

Good looking load you have there :) Ash is one of my favourites... But... As Bob says Michagan is, it's pretty much my area also.

I live in NEO and the Borer has not only been here,.... But destroyed almost every living ash around. Some still stand, but most have met the end. :(

I live just South west of Cleveland and the landscape is surrounded by dead ash... Everywhere you look :(

Yep, great to see old and used gear that's done it's job, and then some ± better still if it keeps on trucking. So much better than new stuff that breaks or wears out prematurely. I'm hoping some of my new stuff lasts as long as that truck, or longer.

Cincinnati and the surrounding area, including the Northern Kentucky area, has had most of the ash killed off by the little green devil. Coming soon to a tree near you, too soon.:(

Fortunately, I think I have one ash tree on my whole place and it is alive. A co-worker lives on the east side of Cincinnati and he had many ash die off.
Ralphie Boy what part of Northern Kentucky do you live in

I'm on the river close to Rabbit Hash, you know the town that elected a dog for mayor, more than once I might add. I live in what I like to call the "Golden Triangle" of names; in the middle of the Beaver Lick, Big Bone Lick and Sugartit area. I'm not kidding, you can't make this stuff up, check a map of Boone County;lol
