Finally froze enough the last 2 days to get out on the golf course that lets me cut all their dead trees. Was able to get 2 truck and trailer loads out today and yesterday. Pretty easy wood to get at. Other pic is wood ready split waiting to be stacked. image.jpg image.jpg

sblat, nice score, what type of wood is it?

The course is loaded with ash. I cut about 3 trees that last two days. Tons more to go, just have to find the time. Huge red oak taken down yesterday, but think I'm gonna keep grabbing all the ash I can. Not more than one year ahead right now, and might be selling our house this summer. Don't want to store that oak for 2-3 yrs. I know I'm crazy.

Sblat - Nice score on the ash. What golf course? I grew up in Haslett and parents still have a home there. I live in Fowlerville and am life long friends with the owner of Brookshire in Williamston and they want us to take out a LOT of ash that lines the fairways. May be getting at it soon, now that the ground finally froze. I like the easy pickin's of fairway cutting!!

This is from meridian sun in haslett. Been cutting there for the last four or five winters. I work up there during my summer months working with their jr golf programs. It's a nice connection to to have.

I was assuming that. Good stuff and close to home. Great score for you!! I am sure with my limited golf skills I have bounced a few balls off trees you are now using to heat your home :)

If you're crazy, so am I. ==c Love burning Oak, but the first order of business is to cut and split all the Ash I can and stack it in my breeziest spot. The Oak will have to wait; Still not far enough ahead with the Buck 91 to feed now.

Sweet gig!
Lotta trees come down at golf courses; They can be pretty open, and when the wind comes up... Just look out for embedded Rock-Flites. ;lol

I'm having the D.T.'s from seeing all these fantistic scrounges!!!! I've not had a good one in quite some time. Haven't even pull the rope on my saws in a while either.
Nice, very nice! Ash is 90% of what I burn, thanks to the little green monster. I do have a stash of white oak, about 3/4 cord, about 1.25 cord of red oak and about 1 cord of mocker nut hickory, but they still have nearly 2 years to go yet. Untill then, ash is king.

Nice......I've got two Oaks down about 1/4 mile from my house....guy said I could have it all....easy to get to, but I gotta pass, and it's killin' me. I brought home a few rounds yesterday and the Wife gave me the eye....I gotta pass:(

Looks like the ground will stay frozen for a few weeks too. Cut all you can! I'm just happy that I don't have to cut right now.
