I have yet to try these but finally found a local dealer that carries them. They are 285 a ton, or 5.7 a bag. No price increase if I buy per bag. Everyone here raves about these but can't get an idea on price. So is this a reasonable amount for these pellets?

That is a fair price. They originate in WV and the further away you are, the higher the price. Like anything, if you really spend the time and bust your ass, you may be able to find them $5 or $10 per ton cheaper, but really, that is a fair price. They are great pellets. Give them a shot!

The Ace hardware store near me sells them for $260 a ton. I didn't go for it because of the price. I can get Turmans for $230 a ton, so I'm interested to see if anyone says it's worth the extra money for the Hamers.

Where in PA are you? I'm an hour north of Philly, in Quakertown. Prices by you sound better.

Near me they are $299/ton. Good hot pellet,But so are many. Price is all in what you are willing to spend.

I purchased 2 tons last year for $272 per ton. This year they were recently $296. This was at Egg Harbor, aprox 15 miles west of Atlantic City.

Well I can get lignetics green labels for 235. I can only assume you have tried them. How do they compare given the price point.

I'm near York. We have a couple options around here other then the big box stores. I can get Turman, Energex, Hamers and one other that I can't remember the name of. They all run around $230 a ton, except for the Hamers, at $260. I got Stove Chow this last time around because they were $209 a ton and we had a gift card.

Hamers are hotter in my stove and produce less ash. But the liggies do run rather well for me too. I have heard some with the Mt. V saying they got slinkers with the Hamers. But it may be settings or something?

As we say try some first JIC. ;)
