I drive 40 miles one way for pellets and 50 for coal! One ton at a time.

80 miles round trip how much does that cost in gas and what would they charge to deliver? unless its on your way somewhere thats pretty far

My dealer is 20 miles away for country boys. I can haul 3 ton on the trailer and unload it with the skid steer right into the garage.

Nice insert did you use the zero clearance box?

Past three seasons it's been about a 3hr rt ride for the Somersets (including loading the flatbed)

Probably cheaper options but no one delivers them around here. (well exept for maybe OMV!)

Not far unless I had to. I prefer to have it delivered and dropped by the ton in my garage on pallets. 3-4 tons at a time.

I guess I've been pretty lucky- my local choices have been pretty good. Turmans/Lignetics/AWP are about 5 minutes away. Back when there were shortages a few years ago I had to drive about a half hour- I was a pig then too. Now that the supply in my area has been stable for a couple of years I just pick up a ton when I need it.

Barefoot dealer = 1-1/2 miles
bLowes = 1/2 mile
Homo Depot = 4 miles

The old Dodge van can hold a ton, but I am sure that the shocks are not going to last too much longer.

It's a Lowes and they don't deliver.. And I had to fight with corporate to get a half-decent price down here where the normal price is $6 a bag! Welcome to the forgotten South where it will be 20 tonight, which is low considering the shoddy way houses were built and insulated down here. Good ole boy construction.

Yea, if I take the wife, you can count on at least one meal and a WalMart, a Target, and a Kohls! We are right on the southern boundary of pellet stove usage for some reason even though it gets darn cold down here next to the mountains and everyone is either propane or all electric. Now with Obummer's EPA shutting down most of the coal fired generators in Ga, the rates will 'necessarily skyrocket' as some brain surgeon PROMISED 4 years ago.

I bought a pallet from Southern Indiana Hardwoods and hauled 'em back to Wisconsin.... about 400 miles.

I'm new to this but I won't likely be driving anywhere to get pellets. The stove store delivers for $25 a ton with a max of $75. They stack them too. So I'll pay them and save my time and money. ;)

were you in the area and stopped there to get them or did you drive there just for the pellets?

I used to travel about 20 miles one way, but then I found out a local farmer was selling pellets for $5 a ton more. He lives about 2 miles away so in the long run it is cheaper. Last year he didn't have any when I went to get the stash so I went about 6 miles to Lowes.

I had an empty 48' trailer and was about 60 miles away.... got a good price, too.

Drove about 7 miles to pick up a 1/2 ton of Vermont's. That's all they had
