Wood ID - Missouri

Hi all, need some help identifying wood in the following pictures. Thanks in advance for your help!

Geeze Trickle, it looks like oak but the pictures are too far away. It is always difficult to ID from pictures so some closer shots would help.

Dennis, sorry bout that, will get closer pics next time I'm over there. How about the cut and split pile, any thoughts on that?

Will, yeah I have read all about oak. Any oak that isn't already c/s/s will be minimum 3 years in a stack. I dunno if those two trees in front of the house are oak or not. The fell ones could be anything, I'll grab closeups of those when I'm out that way again.

Oak both white and red there.

The first picture shows a smallish white oak, with a larger, darker tree that I can't ID. The third picture shows a bunch of white oaks, including one down tree. I think the cut and split wood includes a lot of oak, but I can't ID most of it.

I'm saying the standing trees and blowdowns are all white oaks. The piles of splits look like red oak to me.

All good stuff, needs lots of time to season but worth the wait IMHO.

Good you know about the oak! With the others agreeing on the oak, you will probably be okay without extra pictures. I would put the most faith in what nrford states because of his vast experience. He has much more than I do because of his years working with logs and lumber.

Dang, you cats are good! I could just tell they were trees and splits by them furry pictures. When I grow up I want to be like you guys!
