Freaking Freezing Ouside, And Running Both Stoves....

The PE kept the upper level pretty constant. I did wake up to 65F this morning with the fan cycling @ 5:30 AM.

Went into the apartment at 6 AM and it was 58F. It's on a slab.

I will admit to pumping it up through out the whole house from 3PM on, yesterday.

Wow, much warmer up her today. 45 almost 50, and raining out. I let the stove go cold this morning. Fire it back up tonight...

In the middle of a cold snap here as well, it's 9F and very sunny out today with a bit of a breeze. Last night it was really windy and about 4F outside, decided to stuff the stove full of bricks and let it rip for the night. Upstairs was 73 at 9AM today (8 hours after load) and I had quite a few coals left with top temp almost 300F. Threw 5 more bricks in and ran it a little lower since the sun would be helping, upstairs has been staying between 71-73.

Hopefully it's the last "hard" workout it gets this season, but being in MN I won't hold my breath.

I forgot the air control on the stove at #2 and after working on a truck for a few hours when in the house and it was pushing 85* Had to open 2 windows for a few hours to get it down into the 70s... even with it being 0* outside.

Can't believe the temps you guys are dealing with, guess I'm in for a shock when I move north someday, I'm use to burning my armful a year down here, were hitting the 80's this weekend, wish it were colder, but I feel for you guys , I know your ready for warmer weather, wish we could trade!! Love running my stove, but my chances are limited....

I guess I have a bad taste in my mouth. Last time I was in FL (keys last June) it was 112 degrees and 1 million percent humidity, and to top it off, I'm pretty sure the sun comes down to within 200 yards of the ground in FL, cause I'd swear I could feel my skin and flesh burning right off the bones in the sun! And although I'm being funny, I'm also not kidding at the same time! If somebody had lit a stove of anykind that day, the earth would have imploded with heat as a Supernova does.

58 is pretty cold, the coldest its gets here is about 68 on the third floor above the stove in the morning. Its hard to move the heat up 3 floors. Each floor is 1000SF, stove is on the 1st floor. Once i load up the harman it takes about 1 hour for mid 80s first FL,high 70s 2nd fl,and low 70s third FL. Then i turn the air all the way down and cruise. The downside is the actual stove room is unbearably hot most of the time ,good thing its in an unfinished part of the 1st floor.

The apartment is currently empty. My goal was no freezing pipes. That was accomplished.

Many homes i florida have traditional fireplaces,which is good since you dont need too much heat anyway. EPA Wood stoves i would think are rare.

I've never actually measured, but its around 16ft or so.
