I know many of you keep your pellet stove installed in your living room, basement or a central room in your home...We have turned our dining room into our stove room and utilize an eat in kitchen..
My question is this.....
How warm do you run or what temp is your stove room?

Right now with temps in the teens and wind speed temps in single digits and below...we can run our stove so that the stove room temp can be kept comfortable between 70-95 without setting above 3 or 4 on the feed dial....

right now with the dial on 3 our stove room is a very toasty 88 deg......

our kitchen doesnt have good insulation ( just bought home) and draws heat like crazy but our upstairs will run approx 7-10 deg lower than our stove room...

1400 sq ft home heated by a Harman PP38...

75 in stove room

88 degrees, id be opening windows. Our stove is in the living room and its 70. The bedrooms are around 65, cooler when we go to sleep because even 65 is hot for sleeping.

Stove room 70, kitchen next to that is 68.

I have NO idea how anyone could have ANY room at 88...I'd pass out. ;hm That's just ridiculous.

Stove room, 66::F, Room with the stat 72ºF

88::F I couldn't stand. Windows would be open and stove would be off.

I know it sounds warm but feel great...our basement doesnt have the best insulation...cold air from basement comes up through the floors and creates a chill...averages out well..
Will be solving the insulation problem this summer..just bought house last March..didnt plan on using the pellet stove until this past December...Maybe next year will be different...but everyone is comfy warm...no complaints from inside this house...just thought i would ask.

72 all rooms down stairs 3 rooms plus bath open colonial warmer by my recliner (the stove of course) and 67/69 up stairs in all three beds and bath

Thanks for the reply....i think new insulation within the floors will be a big help next season.

Yes im sure it will I have been chasing my drafts all winter. I think Iwill be installing an OAK this summer

Not sure how cold air goes upward. ;hm

chimney effect... the oldest floor in my house is in my dining room, where my stove is, is a hard pine floor that has been literally worn through to the subfloor in spots (my house is 150 years old).. you can definitely feel the cold air being pulled up from the cellar...

No OAK!!!

As for the temp.... As I type, the entire house is about 72* :) the dining room (Quad room) may be 70* (coldest room). This when running the Furnace. But for the most part, it's pretty even throughout. It sets up a good current through the house and even rooms without registers, have a good heat, because of the return air flowing through:) Love it.

When running the Quad, the stove room (Dining room) is likely to be 74*-77* depending on stat setting, swing, and time of year. With the rest of the house about 70*. (Dining room is about smack dab in the middle/Actually it's a little off and the "New Stove" will reside in the Middle. Or the Family room that's Never used) .

Running a freestanding, requires Zone heating. The room it's in, has to be somewhat warmer. Ceiling fans, through the wall fans, etc help this. But without them, the adjoining rooms will always be a little cooler.

Stove room 77 with a swing set of 3 rest of the house stays 73-70 ( coldest being the bonus room above garage ) with a lot of help from Dexter ( thank you ! ) the whole house stays the same 24/7 slow and low is how we heat 2200 sq feet and very happy !
Will use just about 4 tons this year with no oil ! Big savings and much happier with the temp we now keep the house out !
Only heat DHW with oil will use maybe 100 gallons this year with a family of six .

Stove room is between 65-70 depending on load timing. Bedrooms usually 68ish, never over 65 when falling asleep

During the day the stove room will be low 70's and the upstairs mid 60's. At night when the temps drop the stove room will get up to mid 70's and upstairs bedrooms around 67/68.

Upstairs is 69 from end to end.

Insulated side of the basement is 67 last I checked. The stove room/non insulated side of the basement is 65. Ductwork is great. Put the heat where you want it.

If the house was 88 degrees, winter or summer, my wife would be on me like white on rice to get it cooled down quick.
