Just picked this up this morning ,

Not happy with the fact that mine doesn't SEEM to have the adj oiler ,there is just a cover plate with adj. Markings NO screw

So what the #%&@ need to Buy & install this option ?

As I like to say It's not what they tell you that matters but what they don't

If I'd known this, it would have been in THE DEAL

Rant over

Insight on this guys?

I have never use the screw on any of my saws. Wide open and leave it. If its getting enough oil enjoy if not take it back. Should be a really nice saw though!:) Smile and get to busting some cords.

I had the same problem with mine. It is located bottom side, by the sprocket, there should be a small hole. Great saw, I have been very happy with mine.

Nice illustration's NOT :ZZZ
also wording in manual led me to believe it was a'' special option'' to me it's standard equip on this model & also found standard on Most all models now
Cost me a trip back to the dealer :p

Thanks you were almost in time:)

Either way you look at it, that saw will make up for the manual's shortcomings! ==c
Good little saw right there, get us some pics of it in action.....you know how we like pics around here!

Enough talking about the manual.
Dealer should've run it for you & left enough gas in it to demo it for us in a log. :)
Time for the chips to fly.

Nice saw, tops on my list if I buy a new saw ;)

Let me get all my stuff out there & shoot some pics

I got a 50-60 ' oak out back thats split and broke off about 8-10 up .

Its a puzzle of physics ,dangerous but interesting ,

I can easily take it down safely ,but I'm also trying for easy processing

Ice storm predicted tomorrow (my day off ) was going to do it then but I'll play it by ear

I have 8 sthil products with engines I just hope this ones a better one than the pain I traded off.

Thanks for your interest( insert thumbs up smiley here )

I took it home dry .

Almost felt criminal on the trade I made but they sold me it ,& worked on it ,and charged me for what Ithougt should be a warranty .(not the 362)
this was a prior purchase.that I traded on the 362

I don't like living & looking at Bad tools

Bad gear/tools make work/fun into misery.

What was the machine you traded?

A cultivator /mini tiller 55 was the number, hard starting , poor running , hot start issue , had to work on it constantly .And considering the job it did , poor in my soil type .It was LESS than worthless. So happy to be rid of it . Had it 5 yrs. ran maybe 4-5hrs total spent longer trying to fix

When he gave me a price I could hardly contain myself . Just thought be

25'' bar/ sthil full chisel chain & 20'' bar full chisel chain w/362 $600 out the door

list for this + tax would be about $850

Its stuff like this is why I can't do CL /E bay (don't want people pissed at me for something out of my control OR the other way around) I've never been a wheeler dealer just don't run in the genes ::P

Even though this was a poor unit to begin with / I believe they have a different carb now or so I was told

I know this ethanol gas is a problem . my other 7 sthils never did this to me

Cheers

Yeah, replacing that carburetor (about $35 bucks or so) probably would have done that machine wonders. It seems that Stihl had a run of bad ones several years ago, had several FS45 and FS55 trimmers give us grief while they were still very new. Started replacing carburetors (those units were under warranty) and they turned into the gems they should have been to begin with.

Too bad you had so much trouble with that MM55. They are quite the versatile little unit, my friend has one and I borrow it occasionally to power-thatch small sections of yard.
