and what do you get?

Yup, a broken leg. Spiral fracture. No surgery (not yet at least).

Ho hum...... just another day in paradise. :)

Owww. Sorry to hear that.

That sucks! Plenty of couch time and nooooo football. I prescribe plenty of naps and for you to wait on him hand and foot. What do you say guys.....we have to stick together!

ouch. Very sorry to hear Shari. He's lucky that there's a good person around to help him out for a while!

Hurts just to think about.

Crap, broke my fibula (left side) and had to have surgery to put everything back together that I tore up. Have a nice 4" scar on the outer side and 2" scar on the inside to remind me of sitting on my butt from late Jan to April. Did it the same way too. Slid down an icy ramp and twisted when I hit pavement. Was back to work by late Feb (light duty) but not free to walk until April 1.

1 plate, 3 screws and the medical equivalent of a zip tie hold me together these days. ;lol Still feel it a bit at times but time will tell if that gets worse or not.

Send your hubby my best, it's not fun and the first week is pretty painful, even sitting still. (I refused to take the Percosets.) Morphine sure was fun tho! :p

Wow, hope he heals up fast......that can be a bad thing to happen.....

MM - His break is not as dislocated as yours sounds - thank goodness! The problem is the broken leg is his 'good' leg. He had just got in to therapy to strengthen the other leg and now he breaks his 'good' leg. I had to do a semi firemans drag to get him into the car to get to the ER. He's 6' and I'm in the lower end of 5'. We should have had someone filming us for America's Funniest Video's - but we made it into the car. :)

BTW Men are wimps when in pain. Just sayin'............ :)

Sorry to hear that.

And yes we are wimps.

Slipped on ice a few yrs ago. Rotator cuff, out of work(self employed) for 2 months.

Back to the wimp thing. After surgery, I was prescribed some high end meds. Just enough for 2 or 3 days. My wife has never seen me in such a good mood. it was a wonderful few days.

Good luck with the broken leg.

Spiral fracture! I sympathize. Had one with a pinky finger, courtesy of a big, lovable Newfie. My Dad (a colo-rectal surgeon with LOTS of surgical training in other fields) gently pulled it straight. After films, orthopedic surgeon wanted to know who had set it. Healed well, but is shorter and not quite as flexible as the other pinkie. miss being able to touch my palm on a finger crunch by about 1/8 inch. Once it was healed, the orthopedic surgeon told me to do lots of reistance exercise with it in warm water.....

Good luck. Spiral breaks suck. Hope yours heals well.

Here's to hoping he makes a swift recovery.
