Have you thought about a 6 wheeler and plow for snow removal? Great for roaming around at other times too. We still have ours but have been using a 46" Troybuilt snowblower with Touch-n-Turn steering.

We've done the wood burning boiler and that gets old fast. Hard on the back...

Well I am actually looking at a pellet boiler with separate bulk hopper. It is on their site. I have a 4 wheeler with a plow. You guys and gals are no where near lazy enough for me!

PLUS!!! how is using a gas engine to remove snow sticking it to the fossil fuel bastards? Let's not lose site of my ultimate goal of relying on America and American workers solely.

The BTU output of the pellets being delivered are far greater than what is being used to transport them. How do you think gas get to the gas station? They use foreign gas to ship foreign gas. Or use foreign gas to ship an American renewable resource. I think the latter is much better than the aforementioned situation. If I found a pellet company that delivered with natural gas trucks, I would pay extra to buy them!

"They use foreign gas to ship foreign gas."

I had to check - per CIA World Fact book - approx. 9.6 million bbl/day from US; 10.3 million bbl/day imported; 1.9 million bbl/day exported from US; 19.15 million bbl/day consumed in the US.
"The discrepancy between the amount of oil produced and/or imported and the amount consumed and/or exported is due to the omission of stock changes, refinery gains, and other complicating factors."
http://www.indexmundi.com/united_states/oil_production.html

About half of the consumption comes from US sources so not bad. Consumption would not be only fuel but petroleum based products (plastics, sythetic fibers for furniture coverings, carpets, vinyl flooring, clothes, etc).

As opposed to 100% of pellet wood coming from North America? I guess we'll agree to disagree on this one. No biggy we're both doing are part already whether I run heated lines through my driveway or not we're kicking ass and taking names on the heating of our homes!
