This is what I am talking about. Walk out the door, there it is, BAMM.
Got a hell of a nice load this morning. Mostly oak, with a sprinkling of maple, cherry & birch.
All from state land that the state decided to clear. They snoozed on a bunch of this, as some it starting to get punky on the outside and will not make it to the mill. I'll burn it right nice.
Just don't have the equipment and time to scrounge around here, not to mention, many folks burn round here and scrounging in high competition.
I do enjoy walking out the door and going at it.

One pole was riddled with roofing nails and staples. Didn't notice till I saw a cut and there was a nail.
Could feel it cutting like shat, and was wondering why so soon. Thought I was imagining the poor cut. Well a cleanup with the Dremmel, and she was like a hot knife through butter again. Yeap I use a Dremmel and do it very well.

To hell with scrounging & to hell with hand filing. BAHAHAHA
No wasted time here. SAM_0760.JPGSAM_0761.JPGSAM_0762.JPGSAM_0769.JPGSAM_0767.JPGSAM_0768.JPG

I'm gonna beat PapaDave to it and say it... "You Suck" ;) Spectacular haul Hog! WOW! In actuality, I guess it's not a "haul" it's just a grab, or a drop off, or a pick, or a...

Thanks. Its a sweet load dropped right in front of the garage in the driveway, where I can cut at my leisure. I'm sore enough processing, I sure as hell don't need to be chasing the stuff down.

That's some real firewood there.

Now, you get that all cleaned up too soon and you won't have anything to do next weekend ;)

Damn. You hit the jackpot with that mofo.Great looking White Oak there.I recognize that blue stain from a mile away.Worth a bit of trouble for that.

Great score! I must have ADD, I can only buck logs for a few hours at a time and then I want to go and do something else.

Pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Nice score, really nice score.

No words - well, maybe Awesome!!

Nice pile of wood there. Still plenty of work to do but as you stated, now it is at your leisure.

Nice. Plus you can keep a closer eye on the lengths you cut them too. Sometimes you dont get that option.

Get that addition finished and the 30 installed. Me and the brown haired girl are coming up and moving in.

Next time tell them they can only drop the straight stuff.

Beautiful load! How much will you burn and how much will you mill?
By the way you suck!;lol Please know it's said in pure fun!``````

Nice ! Looks like alot of them are already cut to a good stove length:)

Ralphie, It will all be process for firewood. It all gets burnt.

Damm Hogz, not only did you cut a nail, you 'ripped' the bastage.....right down the middle!!
I'd say that saw was cuttin like chit after that one! I use the dremel most of the time too, with a 7/32" stone, and I have become a wizard at making a razor sharp chain in a minute or two...

As for the wood, YOU SUCK....:p Nice load, looks like all kinds of good stuff there (white oak and cherry among others). that'll keep ya busy for a while.....

Yeah the 361 split that nail like it was nuttin. But did need a quick sharpen on next refueling. Looking like 85-90% white oak, the rest fairly even split of maple, birch and cherry.
This stuff will all be stacked in the barn for a few years. Will get another load a year the next two or three years, looking to store maybe 25-30 cord in the barn and take a break from cutting and stacking for a while after I get the barn loaded up. Although I really do look forward to cutting and splitting. Maybe I'll clean up the property to fill in on the cutting time, and do some local home scrounging. Really need some equipment for around here. Some day, after the truck & house are paid off.
Thanks guys, I feel blessed to find wood each year. Really happy this year, as this is a good size load.

Very Nice! I I'll have to try the dremmel.

Well, I was worried about processing in the warm weather, just don't care for it.
So that weekend it was in the 50's I got most of the load bucked up.
Started cutting the rounds the weekend before last, with the exception of about a cords worth of poles. Cooler weather, great for processing.
Saturday finished cutting rounds and started splitting, and had a thermal top and sweatshirt on, but not tucked in. By the time I got inside that evening, my lower back, and sides and upper arse were numb and cold. They itched to all hell when thawing. Even got me some hives LOL
Was wondering why my back & sides were hurting more then usual. Took a good couple hours to thaw out on the couch under a blanket. Was def a Percocet event.
Split some more on Sunday. Made sure the thermal was tucked in this time. Still a lil chilly, but not the pain as before, and no thawing & hives.
Have about 3-1/2 to cords split and some stacked, the rest stacked on the ground for ease of loading in the truck to transport to the barn.
Figure about another 4 to 5 cords to split. This should take me into 2016/2017 burning season. Have a couple more years of processing loads to get where I want o be. Then it is a few years off, maybe.
Wanted cool weather, but this snow is getting old.
Left lower pic is next year and the year afters supply.
