how hot should the air comeing out of this unit be?. i have the setting at 9 pellet feed and 9 blower speed and its only luke warm. i ran it for 2 days straight and 3 bags of wood pellets and the only thing hot on it is the door and glass window. any help on getting heat out of this unit is apreciated. this is the first time operateing a pellet stove for me and im clueless. thanks..

Hello

First of all the stove and the venting must be clean. The door gasket must be in real good shape and preferably less than 3 or 4 years old.

The lower 3 buttons on the Englander digital control panel can adjust the heat to the fullest or less if you wish.

To get the maximum heat from the stove, then set the buttons to the factory setting of 6-4-1
To save on pellets and get less heat use 4-6-1 These settings are for the 25-PDVC not sure about the CPM.

Definition:
1 LFF low fuel feed; this setting controls the cycle rate of the top auger when the unit is set on a heat range of 1 or 2. it does not affect the stove at heat range 3 or higher. the LFF settins we choose are based on consumption rates using average sized pellets meaning an average length of 3/4 inches (ish) now not all pellets are sized this way some smaller some longer on average so the settings can be adjusted to compensate (we usually wish to advise on that based on what an owner gives us on average time of a bag's burn duration on h/r 1) ideally to allow the stove to keep a physical fire without having to relight each batch from coals which is a dirty burn)

2. LBA low burn air; this setting determines the speed of the exhaust/combustion blower on the same 1 and 2 heat settings, no effect on 3 and higher. as with the LFF we determine what the best air setting is based on typical pellets and anormal setup. we may adjust this with info from the owner in cases of high altitude, odd hookups and such. too much air causes a "starve/smother too little and it "loads up" and burns pelets slower than they arrive causing excessive ash buildup clinkering and sooted glass

3. AOT air on temp; the air on temp button controls the temp related functions such as "proof of fire" blower on and off, and others. this setting shold never be on anything but 1.

Note:
Control board reset and mode check have to be done with stove off. The lower 3 buttons can be changed "on the fly".

To change the settings:
With the unit on and operating, press the Low Fuel Feed button, a number will appear on the blower speed window. It can be changed by using (quickly) the up and down arrows. The Low Burn Air button works the same way, as well as the Air on Temp. The Air on Temp should always be set on #1.

thanks for the tips. the stove is less than a week old and on its 4th bag of pellets so its not even broke in yet. i noticed you cant go lower on the blower than the pellet feed number but you can go higher. i havent looked to see what the numbers on the 3 lower buttons are. its in the upper 20's to lower 30' outside and the inside temp. is 67 and stays around there with the stove on the 9 9 settings. is this about right?.

Hello

Well, I do know the CPM may not put out as much heat as the 25-PDVC or 25-PDV. DexterDay has a CPM, so does Imcaman so you can send them a private conversation or maybe they will chime in.

Wrong stove Don.

Yes, I know that stove has the lower 3 buttons but I just changed my response stating the settings were for the 25-PDVC and not 100% sure about the CPM

The CPM should be 1-4-1 from the factory?

What are your bottom 3 set at Michael? Just press that bottom button, and it will read what that setting is.

Are you burning in "Pellet" mode? Are you using a Thermostat? Or running manual? If manual, is the Jumper wire seated properly in the control board (there should be a jumper where the t-stat wires would go)

Are both of your ash clean-outs pushed in all the way (2 rods under the ash lip/ they must be pushed in ALL THE WAY)? Have you checked the door gasket? It should seal tight all the way around?

What pellets are you burning? How large is your house? How many stories? Is the stove in the basement? Is the OAK hooked up?

Lots of questions, but they all need answered for help.

Factory setting for the lower three buttons are 1-4-1. You can see the what the numbers are by pressing those buttons individually. Many of us play around with the settings a bit. I'm currently running at 2-5-1.

9-9 should be full blast burn your face off levels of heat. What pellets are you burning? I've found those make a HUGE difference. How does the fire look? Bright orange/white? Might be worth a call to tech support at Englander, but try some different pellets first. I burned the wrong kind of pellet when I first got the stove, and thought something was wrong. Turns out it was just a crappy pellet.

feed rate sounds slow, confirm 24 hour use at 9-9 for me please should be better than 2 bags per 24 hours at that feed setting. i may have a solution.

if you wish PM me a daytime phone number, i run the customer service department at englander, i'll make sure everything's right for ya. i could give you a yell during the business day tomorrow

Don, there's no sense posting settings that are for the wrong stove. If you're not sure, then don't offer guesses.

sorry i misinformed on that one. i run it at 9-9 from 2 oclock when i get home from work till about 9 when i go to bed at which time i turn it to 5-5. im burning about 1 and a quarter bags id say doing what ive been doing. i dont want to run it on high when i aint there cause i dont know if it just needs broken in or aint running right.

The factory setting for the bottom 3 buttons was 1-4-1, as mentioned above. However, are you sure you have the stove in pellet mode? Can you describe your exhaust set-up? bends, lengths, directions, etc, etc.

Also, please tell us what brand of pellets you're burning.

I have also found that some changes to the trim settings will increase the heat output, but need to know that the stove is set-up correctly first of all.

flame looks pretty good to me. its big and orange the best i can tell. ive been useing premium wood pellets that i got from true value. ill have to get back to you on the name. you cant even feal any heat from the blower at 2 feet away from the stove.

i used the exaust system that was recomended by englander the 3300 duravent i beleave. it runs straight out the back to the cleanout and then straight up the outside wall. i dont have the end cap on as i ordered another 2 feet that im waiting on. id say its about 8-10 feet above ground level right now. ill check to make sure its on pellet mode here when i get back to my house but everywhere is sold out of pellets right now and i only bought enough to try it out and am all out right now so hopefully tomorrow. thanks for all the help everyone.

Big & orange flame is what you DON'T want. Flame should be shorter, very active, with yellowish flame with a hint of blue at the base.

If the stove is NOT on a stat, have you made sure that the jumper wire is still in the stat connector on the control board?

oak is hooked up. how much suction should be drawn in. i have very little. this entire area for 50 miles is out of wood pellets till next week at the earliest. lowes walmart and 2 harware stores are out till next fall. is this usual or is there a shortage?. i was useing lignetics premium hardwood pellets from true value till i ran out. ill have to unhook the exhaust and the outside air to get to the thermastat jumper so that will be done this weekend when i dont have to worry about work. is there a video of what a flame should look like and what it shouldnt? i have a color blindness that wont let me see diferent shades so yellow and orange might be the same for you and me. it is about the size of the window. also the window is getting black around the edges.

Lignetics are a good pellet, so I doubt that's the problem. The suction on the oak should be enough to feel when you put your hand against the inlet. A piece of kraft paper should stay stuck very easily.

As for the flames, on a setting of 4-6, my flames are maybe 1" above the edge of the burn pot, and very active.

You never said what your bottom 3 buttons are set at......we need to know that. Did you check to see it's in pellet mode?

bottom 3 buttons are 1-4-1 and its set for wood pellets. i videoed my flames but cant seam to get it to post on here.

You really need to find out if that stat jumper wire is in place on the control board. If it isn't, the stove will just run in lo fire all the time.

If you DO find that it's in place, try setting bottom 3 buttons to 2-5-1, let it burn for about an hour, and see if that helps.
Don't know if this helps, but here's a pic of what my stove looks like during a regular (meaning AFTER initial start-up) burn. Stove was on 4-6:
