The AR-15 (bolt action) with .50 Beowulf is for topping & limbing trees from the ground. I use maul splitting to relax after dealing with clients, some are a little dense (both clients and rounds).

I don't think there is a bolt action AR-15. By definition it is an auto loader.

This is the Saftey Harbor 50BMG. It is the upper receiver that fits on a standard AR15 lower. It is a bolt action, 5 round magazine side fed. Light weight, and low recoil.

We shouldn't let this drift too far from cutting/splitting wood.

Oh ya , in the past there were times that the sole purpose if going out and beatin the crap outa some wood, was for anger management, and it works

The neighbors might need their own anger management maul and rounds area should one be using their own at, say, midnite ?

A cascade of anger management could start in Bangor and not end until everyone was sleepless in Seattle.

The range is relaxing, but I have to drive to get there. The maul is right out back.

There is nothing better after a day of BS office paperwork than spending some time splitting. I don't have to talk to anyone, I don't have to fill out a form, - just make big logs into little ones. It gives a sense of accomplishment that's usually missing during the day.

i used to use splitting wood as a diciplinary tool for my son long ago when he got in trouble. now, 20 years later he told me he hated doing it then but appreciates what it did. he now does it to relieve his frustration, when he gets the opportunity.

I have a teenage girl who is moody as all heck, I take out my frustrations on black locust or maple rounds. Thank God for rounds and Fiskars.

Shoot some firearms after processing wood. AAAAAAAAHhhhh.... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzz

I always found just the simple act of being in the woods or even the mechanical repetitive splitting with the hydraulic splitter or stacking has been good theraphy for me . . . not that I need theraphy . . . I'm perfectly normal.

Oh, I've had days, dealing with my ex-wife.... where I was cleaving 20"+ green locust..... with a 3.5# boy's axe.... with a single swing....

I purposely didn't use the maul..... I didn't want to split the chopping block too... lol

strong + angry can be productive sometimes...

The only time I have used the ax for anger management was for 4 days following Newtown. I was going between crying and then beating the heck out of firewood. Now, I am fighting the gun grabbers in Annapolis, which might require some more splitting by hand in the near future, pepto, and advil, in no particular order.

I actually get along rather well with most of my clients. One pissed me off this morning when I drove to his place to go over his 2011 & 2012 tax returns and pick up the paperwork for his 2008, 2009, and 2010 tax returns. He handed me an envelope that supposedly had the 08, 09, and 10 tax documents in it, and it was just additional stuff for 2012. So, I have to redo 2012 and still have to do an IRS request for the data for the earlier years. 40 minute drive each way and I was fuming on the way to my next client. Had to call my wife to have her calm me down. Other than that, have not been pissed at a client for a while.

Agreed . . . works for The Hulk. ;) :)

Two birds with one stone... have her do the splitting. ;lol

You guys seem to be full of anger...just say'in.

Don't worry - be happy.

Good advice. It's not really about anger for me - more like therapy/meditation. Besides - if you want a moment alone, the wood lot is the place. Very few people want to help split!

I'd rather have an AR-15 and a pile of rounds myself........and take it out on the target range!!;lol >>
I split wood to relax......;)

There are rounds and then there are rounds.... ;lol
