No, I didn't go there, but this topic seemed to be missing so I am posting with the hope that those who went will share what they saw there. As always, pictures are most welcome.

I have posted these pics on another thread but this seems to be the place for them. These were just a few of the memorable things that I saw. The second pic is of 4 Hitzer coal stoves running, no smoke or smell. It was very impressive!

Wow, just when you thought the BKK couldn't get uglier someone proves you wrong. The Hitzer demo looks impressive.

What new stoves were showing or introduced?

To start, Blaze King had the Sirocco 30 on legs and the pedestal. They also had the Ashford, but they still had changes to make, so it wasn't the finished product. They said the Ashford would be available in flat Black, enamel Black and Majolica Brown. It would also have side warming shelves available.

Hearthstone made several changes. The Heritage and the Mansfield no longer need any R value on the hearth, only ember protection. They also have a new door design, allowing a bigger fireview. Thats a big advantage for most customers.
They also redesigned the Craftsbury, it now has a totally new ashpan design.
They had the Manchester burning, it's a beautiful stove.
Then they had the new Castleton. Its a great looking stove! It's a very simple all soapstone design, they eliminated the ashpan, it's sized right in between the Heritage and the Tribute. It looks like a small Mansfield. It also only needs ember protection and it has an introductory price of $1999.

Here is a picture of the Sirocco 30 with the leg option and one with the pedestal

Sorry, I didn't ask the price. I would expect it to come in a little more than the princess, but not too much.
It's a great looking stove.

Here is some detail on the new legs on the Sirocco 30. It had a small amount of brushed nickel on the legs that mixed well with the door and handles.

Yes, but I was asked not not to post them since production is not complete.

Oh, Bummer :(...............How does it look compared to a nice looking cast iron jotul or something similar ?

It's very attractive! It actually looks similar to the Lopi Cape Cod, but it has a lot of differences too. They stuck with the same steel firebox that the 30 has. It's jacketed with cast Iron.

That makes sense and a good move. It sounds like they are following PE's lead by wrapping a steel stove with an attractive castiron jacket. If so we should hope for an Ashford 20 and 30.

Just came back yesterday... It was slower than previous years. Less vendors and less traffic. Also many big names were missing and some of the old faithfuls who used to burn outside have moved inside (ie. Travis). Of note, there was a lot less Asian folks walking around with their calipers and taking pictures when no one is looking and then telling you "we make this for you!" Which might tell you the state of the economy.

This year it was also a lot stricter. No one was allowed to take pictures without the express permission of the vendor.

As far as wood burning is concerned, there was nothing outstandingly new this year. Mainly variation on a theme (new models and looks but nothing out of the box). There was a Turkish Manufacturer showing 'clean face guillotine' fireplaces. Very well built, corner, linear boxes. Not ready for North America yet.

As far as we're concerned, we've introduce a new line of Valcourt Soapstone Mass Heater. I had the 'privilege' of taking the sucker apart. It's a smaller unit weighting in at 6,000 Lbs. I have to put it back together for another show in June. I have a feeling it'll take me a couple of days and an hernia. We've also introduced a new EPA fireplace for the big box store called the Tundra.

Webbie, did you come by our booth?

Yes, I was there a few times. I really liked the new soapstone heaters!
