Hello

This old Harman does not have the removable panel to clean the chambers behind the fire brick like the newer models. Naturally, the dryer vent brush was used first to poke up in each accordion tube but to get all the ash out, I used 150 PSI of compressed air.

Then, with the wire wheel, I cleaned and then coated the fire brick and panels underneath with the Dry Moly Spray. Now they look better and are really slick. Many people do not have the time to paint the fire brick so this seems like a good protective solution.

Has anyone tried the Dry Moly on their panels and fire brick?

I use a 9" piece of brake tubing, the fitting matches my air gun. It's not flexible, though.

My eyes! My eyes! May I suggest a feature for your compressor? Use a compression fitting to a 1/4" copper waterline for a flexible long wand so you don't have to get yer hands and face so close to the action.

Yeah. Or plastic? I have a couple different lengths for my air nozzle.

Also Don, a leafblower will eliminate ALL of that soot and ash from entering the home of your customers? Id be pissed to see all that junk flying inside my house?#?! A good unit will be in the 350-450 CFM range.

Funny about the air. I use mine but the leaf blower is cranking so all that junk just gets blown away! best way to clean inside

How about the neighbors? Guess they won't mind a towering plume of ash all over their yard and deck? Leaf blowers are not the answer folks... Containment containment containment...speaking as a professional here. You people and yer yeeeeha approach to cleaning stoves with yard tools :(

In some of our city areas houses are very close together and the Leaf Blower trick would not work.

What do you use to contain the ash when using a 150 PSI compressor Scott?

What neighbors? ;)

Lookin to the front and back....

Leafblowers may not be the answer to ALL. But for those that can? It sucks MUCH more than a standard shop vac and ensures all ash goes out the vent.

That ash explosion in Dons vid, wouldn't have went over well here :(

Thanks Dexter, I picked up a 3 foot piece of 3/8 OD 1/4 ID clear vinly tubing from Lowe's plus a compressor Inflation Kit.

Both for $3.95 ! ! By using 2 pieces:
The screw in adapter and the screw on barb, it attaches to the vinyl tubing and works great! ! !

Really? I don't consider myself a back yard shed yahoo and to be able to clean your stove and to be clean as possible is the way to go.

It's not rocket science to clean a stoves.
