Just bought the stove brand new worked good for a few months but it's overflowing in the firepot black smoke it overflows with in hours I can't go 4 or 5 hours without having to clean it yesterday I cleaned the pipes out and everything but still the the same I burn hammers got ones but still no good results

Nice stove, not familiar with the brand, there are some youtube videos of it but they are not in English. Are you getting a message on the control board?

No no message just the regular stuff can't seem to figure it out I seem the videos too but not in English it was working good at one time but I tried the same settings but no luck thanks for reply

How much have you burned total? What's your venting set-up? And what is your cleaning schedule and what does it entail?

Hey Veee85, I warned you on the other thread that you would get questions on cleaning... Have you cleaned ash traps? Need to do that every 1000 hours of burn time.

burned
does it entail?

Burned about 3 tons so far as for cleaning routine I clean it every time the firepot is full and overflows which is about 2 to 3 times a day i clean the firepot i take out the ashtray empty those vacuum both and the whole inside and sometimes i clean the firepot out with a wire brush when soot builds up when I first installed it it worked great for about maybe 2 weeks i had the air (draught) at 4 and the pellets at -1 and it worked fine dont know what happened as for vent i have a 24 inch (3inch diameter) and a 12 inch pipes and a vent cap which goes directly trough the wall horizontally no elbows or traps thanks alot for your input its really appreciated

Yes I cleaned it everytime I clean the firepot and yesterday I took the whole vent out and thoroughly cleaned it but it still the same just cant figure it out I was thinking of getting a wall thimble with the fresh air intake

So you have only vacuumed the firebox? Do you know how the exhaust flows through your stove (ash Traps that Lake Girl touched on?) These small passages that lead to the combustion blower, are what block the airflow in the stove and lead to a pellet pile up.

(Edit - nevermind the vent part. Just re-read above. Duh!) Clean the vent, the vent cap (it has a screen that likes to get plugged up), and clean the internal passages and ash traps of the stove. It will then breathe better and he back to normal.

There should be some clean out plates, or ports of some kind to aid in the cleaning. Knowing where the air comes in the stove and all the passages it takes to get out pf the stove? Will male you a better owner thats likely to keep clean, what needs to be cleaned. Follow the exhaust. It gets the vent somehow, you just have to clean that area (every Ton is pretty standard)

Also, check the gaskets w/ a dollar bill. Open door, insert biol half way in (over gasket), close door, try to remove the dollar. If it pulls easily, tighten the door latch or replace gasket. If its snug then there is no leak and its good to to.

Is the ignitor working;?

There is a pair of what the translation is, inspection plates on the rear of the stoves firebox. I would bet a ton of pellets that the passages that you can get to from them are filled with ash. When I bought my stove used it was running but not very happy . I did a very good cleaning and the stove has not had a hitch in over a month of running.

Burned about 3 tons so far....
Yer stove needs to be cleaned. remove side panels and lower front wedge so you can get to the clean outs on the sides. I imagine you are getting "hot smokes" on yer control read out too, if so yer raker up above is filled with solid ash...no way to clean that out except with compressed air...sorry no access

Yes I will as soon as I get off I will take everything apart my thinking was since its new that it should be ok for at least the 1st season thanks again man I will let you know the outcome

Yes it starts up normal and starts working normal it's just that the ash get stuck in the firepot and them when the pellets drop they get stuck in the firepot and that makes it overflow I got a good idea of what it is I really think it's the exhaust vacuum or fan

No haven't got that but I will clean it out today

Remember a clean stove is a happy one:cool: Put up some pic's of your set-up inside and outside.

Veee85, Ecoteck has made a cleaning manual in Danish with some very detailed illustrations of what needs to be disassembled in order to make a deep clean of a Francesca stove. There is a metal shelf under the exchanger tubes that only can be cleaned when the baffle plate has been removed. The Firex 600 bricks must be removed too. Compressed air can be used to clean this area, but it makes a real mess of dust in the room. According to the manual a bottle brush should do. See sample from manual below.
To clean the internal ash traps you must have access to the ash clean-out ports, See illustration below.
Google Translate should be able to translate the text, but the illustrations are very clear and detailed, so they don't need much explanation.
The complete cleaning manual is attached below. 14 pages, 1,07 Mb.
PS, I also have a cleaning manual for the Elena stove, if anybody is interested.

Sorry I bailed on you last night Veee85 - late and new dog still had to be walked. As Scott said, pull the sides and front and clean ash traps. If you don't have compressed air, I use an adapter on my vacuum and attach a length of old garden hose tuck taped to it. Run the hose into all available parts of the body - you'd be surprised how much crud you can knock loose. I've bought a dryer vent brush but have yet to try it out to see how it works. For the area around the heat exchanger, I use a 1" putty knife to draw the ash into the combustion area so it can be vacuumed out (may have noticed your rod doesn't have the same range of pull due to ash build-up). Clean your vent again.

Let us know how you make out - as I mentioned, it is recommended that this cleaning be done every 1000 hours.

When you clean the combustion chamber of the stove (I do it every 3 to 5 pellet bags), don't forget to remove the "Flame Trap", the triangular steel plate at the top of the firebox, and vacuum above it, around the round air exchanger tubes, and around the full periphery of the square metal opening just below the tubes. This area needs to be vacuumed out at every regular cleaning, or it will restrict the exhaust airflow.

Every 3 to 5 bags of pellets, I clean my Ecoteck Elena as follows : takes about 10 minutes :
1) Remove Flame trap at top of firebox and vacumm around the heat exchanger tubes and the perimeter of the square opening just below the tubes. A "crevice" tool/nozzle on my ShopVac (with HEPA filter) works great. Move the scraper to the full out position to vaccum the rear edge of the square opening.
2) Use a soft 4 inch paint brush, gently brush off the Firex, use the vacuum nozzle to gather the dust. DO NOT scrape the Firex with the nozzle : it is fragile !
3) Replace the Flame-Trap
4) Vacuum the grate around the burnpot, then remove it.
5) Use a plastic spackle/putty knife and scrape the sides and bottom of the burn pot, then vacuum it, then remove it.
6) Vacuum the inside of burn-pot holder/receptacle.
7) Replace the burn pot
8) Replace the grate.
9) Pull out ashpan and vacuum it
10 Vacuum the bottom of the firebox, where the ashpan sits.
11) Replace the ashpan
12) Clean the glass with a wet (water) paper towel, dry it off with another (dry) paper towel. (NO WINDEX, and clean glass ONLY when it is cool to the touch)
Close it up !

I have never vacuumed my hopper : the Ecoteck auger does not seem to care about fines/dust.

About every ton of pellets, I vacuum out my flue.

At the end of the season (2 to 3 Tons) I take the side panels off, take the exhaust blower off, and open the two clean-out ports and vacuum everything out using a smaller diameter hose/tube, duct-taped into the hose nozzle of my ShopVac, to get into the clean-out ports and into the exhaust blower housing.

This cleaning routine works well for my Ecoteck, now on its second burn season, with about a total of 4 tons thru it. I have used medium quality pellets : Great American, PrestoLog/Lignetics (Lowes), Premium Pellet /Agri-recycle (Tractor Supply), and C&C Smith wood Pellets. I find my Ecoteck to be NOT fussy with the quality of pellets. They all burn about the same for me.

When you do the "big" seasonal cleaning, remove the 4 or 5 philips head screws around the exhaust blower motor to remove it, so you can clean the exhaust blower blades and the inside of the blower housing. It is easier to take those screws out than try to remove the allen-key screws at the outer edge of the blower housing (near the orange silicone gasket).

My ash vac doesn't seem to catch the ash from the farther recesses, hence the putty knife;)

I'd appreciate the Elena manual just to make sure I haven't missed something that should be done;) Can't believe the poor quality of manuals they have produced for the US market...

This cleaning manual attached below covers all three versions of the Elena. The illustrations, however, are of a Elena standard version, but according to the manual all three are similar as for the internal parts, when it comes to cleaning.
I hope you'll get something useful out of it. Google Translate is quite handy sometimes, but I don't know how to copy-paste a whole block of text from the Adobe Reader into Google Translate... do you have to buy the pro-version of Adobe Reader to do this??

What about the dealer? If you bought this new a few months ago, where is the dealer? Have you even called them? Maybe it is worth the couple hundred dollars to pay the dealer to come do a complete cleaning so you can watch for next time(s).
