I procrastinated on the Pole Cutting Pallet Project ,:) but built it today, with all pallet wood, cuz I need it ,got a lot of branches and tops to deal with.
Laying them in the trailer with a strap around them doesn't work that well

How'd it work?

I like it! Good way to cut a bunch of wood for summer grilling.

How'd it work?
Worked good but I think maybe some eye hooks and a couple straps or fat bungees (something quick) for hold down would be even better,I didn't load it up/put much in it , end of day was getin very hungry.
Much better than any other way I tried :)

Yes, some bungies or better yet, a ratchet strap will help a lot. I've seen some like this that were built much larger and they can work nicely. One in particular a fellow had a lot of slab wood so built one similar to yours, just larger. With the slabwood, he did not even have to strap it down. Just cut away.

If you make a V notch cradle for the wood to sit in it would work better
That's a good idea, I may do that, even with a v notch a hold down would be best.
Compared to laying the poles across some logs and strapping them up this is much much better as is.
I wanted something ,quick, cheep, not to big to move around,to make work go faster, and to eliminate bending over while cuttin the stuff up.
I could throw this in ,trailer and take it to a wood lot.
There is all ways room for improvement
