Has anyone had a problem with their fire box burning out? Mine has developed a pin hole leak and after further inspection after I was going to get it welded up, the whole top of my firebox was rusted from the water chamber side. My Eko 60 is 4 years old last Sept.

Sorry to hear of your issue. I am really not aware of any members having this kind of corrosion problem.
Some things that would be good to know about your system:
Is this an open system or closed/pressurized?
Have you ever tested your boiler water chemistry?
How do you know the corrosion is on the water side vs the fire side? Have you drained the system and removed fittings to see inside the boiler?
Any reason your system gets a steady supply of fresh oxygenated makeup water?
Do you have return water protection?
Apologies for all the questions but I think they are important to the situation.

Strange - rust from the water chamber side would usually indicate it being open to the air or fresh water on a constant basis....or, very low water temperatures. Most all boilers require a minimum temperature of over 140 F at all times and a closed system.

Not if it was from cold water or improper use/installation.....at least that was our warranty when we sold boilers.....
But, obviously, that's the first place you go to look for help (the dealer or installer)....
I think our warranty (Tarm) was everything for the first year, then just a percentage up to 5 years, then it was just a small percentage of parts after that. Each one is different.
However, the whole system should be looked at. A new boiler will do the same thing if the problem is elsewhere.

As far a closed vs open systems is concerned I've seen gas and oil fired pressurized systems that are really messed up at less than 5 years of age. A big cause of this can be failure to clean and flush a system (not just the boiler) after assembly. It's amazing how much damage soldering flux can do if it's left in a system.

EKO users are pretty well represented on this board. I'd have to say your situation sounds a bit unusual for a boiler that overall receives very high marks for its durability and reliability.
Your EKO does have a 20 year warranty but as stated above the installation and use will ultimately determine how/if warranty would be applied in your case.
