Ok I appreciate everyone's input, love this site! I am heading to the saw store to check and see if that 372 is still there! Need a saw ASAP as I have to go back for another large load today and needed a bigger saw because the 445 was working a little to hard to continue cutting yesterday!

Grab that 372XP now & trade that 445 for a T435 or Stihl MS 192 at a later date.

I got a regular handle 435 that I originally didn't even want, it came free with a Stihl 044 that I was buying to flip. I sold the 044 and half a dozen other saws and I still got the 435 and find myself using it for as much cutting as it can handle. So +1 on the 435 recommendation.

I'd stay in the 60 cc area. & 20 ".
I rarely get much cutting over 20", so it's kinda fun when I do & don't feel I need a bigger saw.

Exactly! I have the recently rebuilt Rancher 61 and Redmax G5300, both with 20 in. bars. I can easily cut rounds up to 36 in., too big for me to load into the truck. I would shy away from the Rancher 455 and go with a pro grade saw if you can't get the 372xp.

I can say (insert ducking for cover icon here) they sound cooler than any stilh I ever heard

I hear that, and stock saws you are absolutely correct. I love that hollow sound Husky has going.....

But, I have some mean sounding Stihls around here. >>

CAD !
Admit it LOL :)

The 372xp is 0.4 lbs heavier than the ms362. For less than half a pound, id go with 10 more cc's any day of the week for that 20" stuff your cutting.

Good point

372xp acquired! Muhahahah this saw just chews these logs and spits them out! Starts and runs like a dream! Happy happy happy!

"We have another CAD case here. Victim is extremely symptomatic."

"Roger that. Responding. Try to stay out of his way."

Chainsaw Acquisition Disease

I've never sold one,
I only have 3.
But I covet the MS362.
Still in denial here. :)

Chainsaw Acquisition Disorder.

It's a mental disorder. The patient lacks the ability to realise that he already has enough chainsaws. So the disorder essentially overrides the logic functions of the brain.

The upside is that the patient also gets bouts of euphoric pleasure everytime he acquires a, new to him, saw (regardless of condition or value) or even saw related item. As an example buying a flywheel puller can be compared to a normal person getting his rocks off.

;lol;lol;lol

Like that guy on the Scotts lawncare product commercial with the stereotypical Scottish brogue (actually its pretty close to a native Glaswegian truth be told ;)) & unknown tartan plaid flannel shirt says.....

"FEED IT!!!!" ::-)

Hi Brian! ;lol

I have gone 5 days without running any of my saws. And 1 say without touching or working on any...... Everyday I think it gets better? But then it just starts all over ;) Hahahahajahaha!!

one can never EVER have too many chainsaws. For a very long time, I survived just fine with one saw. When I started the serious woodburning, I got a couple more. Now that I do tree removal, I literally have a dozen running saws, and several dozen 'project' saws sitting in the loft of the barn......

Not to mention countless bars (long bars, short bars, even a bow bar) and truckloads of chains......

Ahhh, I love my chainsaws......

BTW, I have a 372XP, and I friggin LOVE that saw (and I'm a die-hard Stihl man)

Now i didnt mind limbing and doing smaller stuff with this saw, but it was overkill! a little heavier than the 445 but ALOT more powerful! I am glad i made the decision to get it! Now when i have the stove done and can free up some cash i will but something smaller! o yeah and had me a pair of them fiskars x27 in my hand the other day! i was close to buying them! now with all this wood i am going to borrow a splitter, i was motivated enough to CSS two plus cords with an 8lb maul but i would like to take a ride down easy street and use a splitter for the amount i have to do!
