after work today i went thru mcdonalds drive thru for a milk shake...while i was waiting for them to take my order, i saw a very large downed tree..what i thought was a ash tree.....so i get my milkshake then walk in and talk with the manager about cutting it...she tells me..here is a piece of paper...write something saying they wont be responsible if something happens..i tell her no problem....came home got the saw and went back....as i get up in the woods behind mcdonalds i see it is in fact a locust tree instead of ash..by far the biggest locust i have cut...and its straight as an arrow as well......i got this load this evening...after work i will get another load each day until i get it whipped...the pic is of some of the limbs from the tree top.....this locust is probably 26-28 inches across for a good 30- 40 feet of log...gonna be some awesome wood.....and to beat it all.its pretty dry wood...could probably burn this year if needed, but this will be for 3 years from now...im sure it will get greener and wetter down in that butt log.

Milkshake and a locust tree! What combo number was that and did it come with fries? Hehe

Looks like ash to me too.
Good wood, dries fast . burns great.
Splits good!

Amazing how many of us can see a down tree for miles.
Will circle the block to take another look.
Kicks the brain into high gear!
Next thought is "wouldn't that tree, all CSS 'd in my wood pile, look great !

Ever have your butt kicked right up between your shoulder blades? Well, this flu was WAAY worse than that, Dave. worst one I've ever had......hands down. It lasted almost three full weeks....

You deserve a tree today. So get up and get away. To McDonald's.

Will that tree be for here, or to go sir?

Back in the 70's when McDonald's aired that tune for ads dozens of their store employees came to work to find front windows smashed and a brickbat inside with a note attached reading "You deserve a brick today...".
