Does this stove require a thermostat to operate? If so, does it shut down when it meets temp or does it go into a maintenance burn?

If it does shut down does it restart on it own? This stove has to be manually cleaned so if it does restart on its own does it just dump fresh pellets into the burn on top of the clinker/ash if it doesn't get cleaned?

Thanks

appears it does need the thermostat, shuts itself down, then restarts...and yes, just dumps pellets into the burnpot regardless.

That's just the midget sized cab50 I have. Does awesome job for 1400sq ft in The Great State of Tennessee wintertime.

Yes.

It shuts down completely. Stove is either on or off.

Stat turns it on and off, just like a normal furnace.

The stock stat seems to have a wide swing. Before switching I would have to click it on myself because I got chilly before stat turned on.

It drops pellets on top and only have had 3-4 no starts and those were my fault. That's not a concern if installed correctly.

Switch to a 'stat like in my sig with swing control and setback programming.

Curious as to what you paid for it if you'd share?
