RIP Mr. Fisher. You're legacy will live on....

That said, think of the homes he's helped keep warm over the years.....those stoves are legendary. We still have a Fisher Mama Bear up at camp, that baby will cook you out.....

Our Mama Bear heated our home for years upon years. Now carefully stored in our barn - Son wants it for the camp he plans to build on our wood lot. Sorry to hear of Mr. Fisher's passing - he certainly helped a lot of families hear their homes during the oil crisis of the 70's and beyond

RIP Bob. You made steel stoves happen.

Aside from Ben Franklin Mr. Fisher is the only other name easily associated with wood burning stoves.. Mr. Fisher was a woodstove legend and visionary.. He may have passed away but his stoves live on.. RIP Bob Fisher

A Fisher stove was the very first stove in our home about 35 years ago and one still burns today....:( RIP Mr. Fisher, you earned my and many of folks utmost respect;ex, the gift you gave will keep giving for many, many years to come.....God Bless!

Very sad indeed. RIP Bob. I wouldn't trade my Mama Bear stove for anything in the world! It's the primary heat source in my northern NY home (all 2 stories) and we've managed to bake with our Fisher stove by using a Coleman camp oven on top of the stove. The bread or cornbread goes great with the soup my wife cooks on the stovetop all day. I've been away from the forum since December, trying to get settled in back home with my family after retiring from the Army. It's great to be home!
