No deep cleaning yet. Some say smart, some say lazy. Little bit of both going on here ;)
Trying to be organized....boy is graduating next week, end of July vacation...gotta get the boat in the water....before I know it August will be here!!!!

Been warm here, finally, but theres a cold low dropping out of the gulf of Alaska starting tomorrow.
Reports say showers and much cooler the next several days, with T storms later this week into the weekend.

Typical June around here.

Happily, the hay farmers are busting butt to get their hay in while its dry

We're supposed to be getting a lot of rain this week too (again) with area flood watches in effect.

Friday night(6-7-13) I was darn close to plug the stove back in! Mrs said she was fine though. She did toss the winter blankey back on the bed and we did need it! Pretty chilly here again this evening!

LOL,

You folks love making excuses, now get that stove cleaned up for the off season which started sometime ago, or in the alternative add a few blankets or quilts to stay warm and then clean that darn stove. Granddaughter went swimming in Sebago two weeks after ice out and at camp on Pleasant Pond, Memorial Day weekend.

Yeah, I ran the stove for an hour this afternoon - house was getting clammy... Not quite time to pull it yet.

Nope, but then she wasn't in for any real length of time. What can I say she loves swimming and as for Memorial Day, it seems that's a tradition, my kids used to make it a point of of doing the first swim of the year then. I guess the the Grand Daughter has antifreeze for blood. The locals also do a New Year's dip into the lake, they cut a large hole in the ice. Then there is the annual dip in the Atlantic Ocean routine in Casco Bay. Hey you live in Maine you should understand and know about the crazy things done here, or are you from away :p.?

Had mine on for 2 hours earlier. Thinking about a another blast before I go to bed. 25 cents worth of pellets for a little comfort = no brainer for me.

That was the tradition at our cottage on Lake Erie ... It was how I met my husband 32 years ago;lol Of course, he thought I was nuts ...

We haven't had the stove on for 4 days here but, I haven't cleaned it yet because we haven't had that speedy of a warm-up.

I gave you a like but you've got to work on that cold issue in a different manner.

Please note the "was", haven't done that for a few years now;lol

I am planning on pics of the clean as there aren't many with the Ecoteck stoves. My family figures I'm crazy taking pics of the stove but then I do the same thing when I refinish furniture - before and after shots. In the process of finishing the second of two maple dressers from the 50s for my son (were his Great Aunt's). Only two coats of paint this time:rolleyes: Don't get the shabby chic when there is beautiful wood underneath. He appreciates the fact that he doesn't have to pay for two real wood dressers that should last another 50-60 years since Mom rebuilds the drawers as part of the process;)

From away, even being here 50 yrs has not changed me. Raised not far from where Craig Issod hangs out. Official swim was always July 4, more fun then. I spent 2 years at Dow AFB protecting your behind. Got too close to the reservation.
