2013 is going to be the year of the big shoulders, I'm still burning little fires to keep the chill off. Should have been done early May. If it keeps going like this, spring buring will run into fall burning. It will be the year of the UniShoulder.

Considered moving to Chicago yet? ==c
It's 77 in the house right now, and it's been cool out, for this time of year. Shoulders are bare here! :)

Wow. Living on the east coast we think California is warm and sunny.
95 in PA dewpoint about 80. Glad for air conditioning this week.

Look on a USA map how far north Nor Cal is. _g
does 59 mean stove time ?
Probably would be here, if night temps were fifteen degrees cooler. Not a lot of solar gain in this house.

I always imagined California to be as miserably hot as Arizona. 59° year round? would be dream weather for me. You can split more wood in those temps. lol
No heat strokes and NO frozen pipes. Your situation is my wildest dream!
No humidy mold and mildew and no bugs....

Long shoulder season here for a while this Spring, but now summer has been pretty warm.
High 40s / low 50s at night, but not burning,
cool air feels good at night with the BR window open. :)

Yes, we're only about 100 miles from Oregon at 4000 ft. elevation. The climate is much more like Oregon than LA, the politics more like northern Idaho, the culture more like the Ozarks. !!!

Yes, 59 high during the day means low 40s at night. Not a big fire, just enough to keep the stove warm.

Oh I know its cold. I spent 7 months
at Fort Ord and nearly froze. That's not that far North but cold at night._g

That falls under the quote mistakenly attributed to Mark Twain:
"The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco"

I still remember the day when I was heading to San Francisco. Going through Reno the temperature was in the 90's. When I got up top on the CA side, it was snowing. Then the 40 mile downhill brought the air conditioner on again with temperatures in the high 90's. Then in San Francisco it was 59. Talk about roller coaster temps! For sure from San Francisco north along the coast it usually stays pretty cool.
