I would recommend you get a stove with a squarish firebox. It gives you more options for loading and burning. I think that would be the Eastwood 1800 in the mid-sized Drolet line. Didn' t suggest Drolet due to the WAF comments.

Do you have an Enviro dealer in your area? If so, take a look at the Enviro Boston too.

Yes 2/45's Are in the plan , are all double wall pretty much the same or are some better? Anyone chime in on menards dbl . Wall ? It's made in Canada . I have easy access to menards

Not speaking to quality, but one thing to keep in mind - you must stay with the same brand of components. No mix and match. Whatever brand you decide to use, make sure that the place you buy it from carries all the pieces that you will need for your install. Build a shopping list - then shop.

You can try it and see how it works. The two, 90 deg turns in the smoke path are what's hurting your height. Hard to avoid these turns with this setup. Perhaps the stove connection could be done with two 45 deg elbows

That's my hope too. I have a friend running a Summit on a short chimney. His connector goes up about 4 ft, then 45s into the thimble and only about 8' of 8x8 tile liner after that. It's not perfect, but the Summit does surprisingly well considering it is below spec.

Resolute has 1 \ 90 & is using the out the top option. My Fisher GrandPa has the rear vent discharge & 3 / 90's

Today , I touched a Alderlea 4 & a Jotul Rangle ,ranger , you know the one with the grill in it .Funny thing guy gave me all the wrong literature for the stoves I looked at

also looked at a Hampton, regency ( or so I thought ,can not find it in stuff he gave me ) it was a cast iron clad ,steel fire box stove . about 2 cu ft

All looked good got WAF on all 3

Alderlea 4 was a bit small but fits my space the best

ash system on this stove NOT good but the rest SEEMS very good

the jotul has top load like my Resolute WAF+++

things got more parts than I care to see But its a Harley ,I mean Jotul

THe hampton /regency or what ever it was fit the space good also & held longer logs

just an update as I read the other threads that also help & confuse me

Webby dissed some Mennards connector & someone said keep the same brand of pipe ,as I ask if Mennards dbl.wall was any good

As of NOW gonna 6'' flex sleeve the masonry chimney no insulation first!

Rockford smooth flex a good choice???

Think of anything else as the more insight I have the worse it gets

The F50 is much larger than the Alderlea T4 and .5 cu ft larger than the Alderlea T5 which is what I would recommend if you go PE. Did you look at the Jotul F45?

I looked at at what they had , none of the models you mentioned were there

My space can't handle a larger stove than about 2.0 cu ft & even then it can't be deep

Its in a main walk way & currenty I think the Resoute ain't kosher. Been their since 94 me, since 2005

Linoleum soon to be replaced with a very hard waterproof laminate

T5 needs 18" on front 7 " rear , if I remember correctly

That puts it to far into the walkway

T5 a deeper stove than the Resoute But can be placed 4" father back

I think the F50 would work, but you expressed concern about going over 2 cu ft.. That's why I asked about the F45. The PE T5 has a unique baffle and secondary air control that gives it exceptionally good burn times. With a lot less moving parts in the long run I think it will be lower maintenance. Another stove you might look at is the Quadrafire Cumberland Gap. It's a front & right-side loader in the 2.0 cu ft range. http://www.quadrafire.com/Products/Cumberland-Gap-Wood-Stove.aspx

If you're replacing the flooring this is the perfect time to extend the hearth with non-combustible tile. With planning, it sounds like you might be able to do this so that the tile finishes flush with the laminate flooring. Or you could just nail on a hemmed sheet of copper or stainless as a hearth extension.

Ask the engineer guy at that stove shop about putting tile down as a hearth ext as you said . Said I must put down a non comb under layment . That's gonna raise floor there at least 5/8" ??? Maybe more . Is there an under layment strong enough too replace my plywood floor in the hearth area

Yep. Get the right stove, even if the install will be a little tougher. That will be water under the bridge soon, but the stove will be there for many years.
