Got a TSC card in the mail today for their early buy program. It's amounts to $25 per ton off. The price around here is currently $244/ton or $4.89/bag.

I got one, too, but what brand you'll get is anyone's guess! I'm considering it, though.

+1. also got a card. I might buy 1 as a shoulder and order 3 or 4 from the local house. last year they had the MW hardwoods which aren't bad.
but they also had unfernos :(

:( I didnt get one. Was it part of a add or something directly addressed to you?

Direct mailing, sort of a large postcard.

Maybe someone can scan theirs and make it available for members to download & print out? I doubt the local TSC will care.

Here it is:

Here's the other side. No bar code. Note that they want 25% down "to secure your order".

right...still, a discount means NOTHING unless you know the base price......if a gas station offers 30% off your gas, but sells the gas for $6.00/gallon, is that a great deal? no....

Agreed! But in their defense, I'll point out the somewhat lame claim that they'll match any local competitor's price. Around here, TSC is the lowest price anyway. I'm still going to wait and see what happens in the fall. I buy 1 ton at a time, due to storage space. Time will tell...

ANY pellet, or same brand?

I take what they have at the time. I've been disappointed just once, when the pellets burned okay, but had a strong and unpleasant chemical smell. The pellet manufacturer blamed TSC's storage for the smell.
The pellets I get may not be the absolute best, but the price is not bad (usually around $210/ton). My stove, so far, has had no trouble burning anything I've put in it.

I got the same offer in email.

ANY pellet, or same brand?

Talked to the manager at the TSC in Brentwood NH, said they would price match any pellet sold locally, regardless of brand

also said they would let you buy at the ton price and then pick the pellets up gradually, i drive by the store everyday, plan is to to load ~25 bags in the car daily

When I buy a ton, they give me 24 hours to get it gone. I don't know what they'd do if I didn't make it, but I take half right then, unload it, and go back for the second half. I like it better when I have what I paid for stacked in my garage.

Our local TSC carries the worst brands of pellets. The only one that carries a decent line is about 40 miles from me. I went with WP.com this year:cool:

I received a 10% off coupon last week and figured I'd stop in to see if they had pellets. Here in Windham ME they had MWP blend and wanted $256/ton. This this the same TSC that sold them for $192/ton last season and historically have been the cheapest in the area. I almost coughed up a lung.

Holy cow!! Cough up both lungs at that price. The local TSC carries brands from small mills that are in upstate NY mostly from logging areas in the Adirondak mountains. Overpriced garbage:p

I`ve sampled different brands of pellets they handled there but I was never impressed with any of them. After I added the $35 per ton delivery charge they simply weren`t worth it.
However, I suppose if you pick em up yourself you might consider them .
I stick with certain brands from lumberyards for two reasons, one being a one shot delivery and two being they usually have a choice of better grade pellets.
At least this is what I find in my area.
