Another flood watch for this area and Vermont, the river is running high. The Raquette River in Tupper Lake feeds this river so I've been watching that, they've been running that high so once they bring that areas water level down it's all coming this way.

Thankfully it petered out before it got to us but is now rebuilding east of us.

Yup Pete. We didn't get much at all.

Got an email from a friend who lives about 60 miles east. They got an inch so far.

Like most of the heavier rain/storms the past two weeks, they stayed south of us. We'll see what Wednesday will bring, I'll be sharpening some chains tomorrow night in case we do get the high winds.

I finally bought a chain for the 36 inch bar tonight.

They were wrong yesterday, we'll see about today & tomorrow.

...THREAT FOR LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING CONTINUES...
ANY STORMS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK AND MUCH OF VERMONT WILL BE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED IN NATURE. HOWEVER...THE STORMS WILL BE VERY SLOW MOVING OR STATIONARY AND HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE ONE TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN IN A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. THIS WILL EASILY LEAD TO LOCALIZED FLASH FLOODING. WATCH FOR RAPIDLY RISING RIVERS AND STREAMS...DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADS...ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT...AND OBEY ANY INSTRUCTION FROM LOCAL OFFICIALS IN THE EVENT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR ANTICIPATED. THE AREAL COVERAGE OF STORMS WILL INCREASE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT...THUS MAINTAINING THE POTENTIAL FOR MORE FLASH FLOODING ACROSS THE NORTH COUNTRY.
