Found this nice little Jotul Allagash CF300 for $500 on Craig's list and jumped on it quick. It's been used only one season then stored in a garage for a year. He said his MIL paid $2300 for it a couple years ago. It has a little surface rust in spots from sitting in the garage but that can be taken care of.

Now what to do with my Blaze King? Should I keep it for a few more years or sell it and hook up the Jotul to heat the basement? If I sell it now I should get more money than waiting down the road. That little Jotul should take care of my 1000 sq ft basement especially with my workshop/brewery closed off.

Sorry about the sideways pictures, I don't know why my iPhone does this on this forum, it doesn't on others.image.jpg

Congratulations... I would put it in the basement for the workshop/brewery. You will pend more time down there for sure...

She's a beauty. Nice find. I found a Jotul Oslo on CL last week--very similar, listed for only $500 with one year of use. When I emailed them about it the next day, it was already sold! I should have jumped at it sooner. Glad you got it.

The forum software does not seem to know how to deal with vertically shot cell phone pics. Shoot them horizontally and they should post correctly.

Good score. It wins in the looks dept. hands down. If you sell, wait until October. Either stove should get top dollar then.

Ha, it worked, stove is all cleaned up with a fresh coat of paint.

Given all the ravings on here about the BKs, why would you want to get rid of yours?

He has to keep it behind a closet door. ::-)

Don't ask, don't tell.....

Higher powers said so lol. Actually since we added on and spend most of our time upstairs it just makes more sense to burn the Keystone full time and have something downstairs to keep the chill off and be able to turn it up as needed. I guess I can do that with the BK too but that means more firewood cutting and maintaining two wood burners is a pain. If I do decide to go with gas selling the BK should cover everything since I got such a good deal on the Jotul.

I still highly recommend BK, it's one of the best stoves I've ever burned and maybe someday I'll replace my Keystone for a BK Ashford 20.

Say it ain't so, you don't need no stinkin' gas burner! ;)

Maybe I'll sell them both and buy a Woodstock PH or Fireside Franklin. Then there's the new Ashford 30 and the Lopi Cape Cod. Oh and I always wanted to try out a PE Alderlea.

Seriously, I haven't decided what to do yet, I need to find out how much it's going cost to hook up this gas unit.

What do you guys think a 1 year old Princess Parlor and jotul Allagash are worth?

But wait until your coming trip to Woodstock. What will you do then Todd? ;) That is a terrific find for sure and nobody would blame you for jumping on it. You could even sell it for the right price now and make yourself a few dollars.

I think you need a heavy duty lazy susan for your stoves Todd. ;lol

Keep 'em all! You can't have too many options.

<-- considering Ashford for basement rec. room

I have a local shop guy coming Friday to give me a bid on installing the Jotul. It will be interesting to see what they charge since I didn't buy the stove from them. Another local stove shop said they charge $800 for labor then add the cost for liner, pipe and cap.
