Hi Everyone,

I know I love looking at other members' stove pictures, so I thought I would share with you the new installation of my Progress Hybrid. Hopefully the stove will perform as good as she looks. Happy Summer to All.

I like the hearth, nice job. I imagine a Progress heating a home in Tennessee will have NO problem.

Congrats-looks great.
May I ask why it is not centered? Is the connecting flue off to one side?
I purchased the hearth pad from Woodstock and they advised that the Progress would have to be off center to meet the clearance on the loading door side. Unfortunately they did not have a larger size hearth pad that would allow centering. I tried to balance the look by having the stove tools on the right side of the hearth.

Hi Tony,
The house is approx 1600 sq ft with 9 ft ceilings. The great room where the stove is located has a cathedral ceiling 20 ft high and lots of big windows for the view. I checked with Woodstock and they recommended the Progress over the Fireview for this application.

Looks great! I just updated from a Firview to the PH.. I'm getting ready to install mine as well..I post some pics as well.. Looks to be a nice house in an area I would love to live.. Welcome to the Hearth Dave... Keep us posted as I will as we get our stoves going..I'm excited to see how she heats!

Hi Charlie,

I too am very excited to fire her up. I never thought I would be wishing summer were over, but this year I can't wait for the fall heating season.

Nice thing is having a cook top as well.. We also have an Esse cook stove at the other end of our farmhouse so now I'll have a few additional warming surfaces which I'll gladly take... Nice thing is with the PH, cooking surface gets used looking, who cares , lay the stones back down and no one sees a thing.. No need to worry about ruining the stones.. That was a great Idea from Woodstock, along with that monster ash pan...

Yeah, I really like the idea of the ash pan. And I don't think it looks bad at all. This winter I hope to be cooking a lot of venison stew. :)

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind words. :)

I noticed it was not centered, but it looks fine and I figured it was because of the loading door. I made mine off center even though I met the clearance requirements - sometimes you get some big "spark pops" out the loading door so a little extra clearance helps.

Welcome to the forum Dave.

Offset matters not; it looks great. That stove will serve you well for many, many years. And yes, you can cook lots of venison on that stove. I'd like to hear the story of that buck you have hanging too. He is a dandy.

That is one beautiful install, but Mother Nature is hard to trump. :)

He'll have plenty of headroom with the PH, that's for sure.
As for offset, he could move the tools and stack a couple loads worth of splits there....now that's balanced. Oh, yeah.....clearance to combustibles. :( Wait, maybe his wood isn't dry! ;lol

Seriously, Dave, I'm happy for you. Getting a new stove is always a thrill. With a Woodstock, prepare to fall in love. ==c

Tenn Dave, Looks great man. May that stove be a blessing to you and your family. Congratulations on the new house. That house is beautiful!

Anyone know how thick those slabs of soapstone are on the PH?

Hi Dennis,

That mule deer buck comes from Eastern Montana. His rack has 13 points (the way we count them back east), and he weighed almost 300 lbs. I got him 20 years ago when a friend and I went out west on a hunting trip. He was running with 3 other smaller bucks and was almost too beautiful to harvest. I was lucky that day and very grateful.
