My wood piles seem to be depressed and want to kill themselves. They must want more attention, cause that's what they need. The HH seems fine! Looks like I should do some manscaping though.

As they dry out and shrink those stacks can fall over. It is a pain. Looks like the HH is in great shape. One of the advantages of that type of wood stack. Looks like more of those would be the way to go.

I noticed one of my stacks between two trees has started to fall over. One of them is maybe 3" dia. and I think it moves a lot in the wind. My guess is the constant rocking back and forth caused the pile to start toppling. I also stacked it above my head and I'm 6'3", so that also plays into this im sure.

One thing I will gar-own-tee is that the heapinhausin in the background will be stable its entire life expectancy.;)

For sure. I've never liked stacking between trees because of the movement of the trees. I can knock the wood stacks over but even worse is that it harms the trees. As for height, we stop at 4 1/2' high and in over 50 years we've had exactly one pile that tipped over a bit. That was just one end.

Jack ,don't you go out every day and admire the stacks. Walk up and down the rows
carressing the locust and the sniffing the red oak... no wonder you have depressed stacks.
