Ready to buy pellets for the winter, but being new to CT last year I don't know if it was a warm or cold winter. That said, I used 3 1/2 tons last year. Do I get 3 tons and buy a few extra bags if needed, or 4 tons and store them somewhere just in case? Ay rumblings as to predictions, as all I heard was that it MAY (or may not) be an active blizzard season. No reference to temps though. What would you do?

Proper Planning Prevents P*** Poor Performance, get'em while you can, and you'll know the correct answer after the winter has come and gone.

No big deal either way...you can always use your backup system at the end of the season if you run out of pellets...

Not if you ripped the entire system out in a fit of rage and blew it up...just sayin'

I think last winter was colder than usual for CT. I burned through 3 tons. I plan on getting 3 more tons for the coming winter. In the meantime, I'll enjoy my garden. The tomatoes are growing like crazy this year!

Summer will be over in a heartbeat. Enjoy it while you can.

I'm thinking cool again. I'd go for 4 if you can store it. any extras you can just burn next year.

4 tons - why go less than what you used last year?
