Northern MI - in the mitten
Had to go to her place today to help a guy take her old Earth stove out of the house.
While there, I cut up a small Maple trunk that blew down in the storm that took down the hard Maple at my daughter's place (and the pine at mine).
Still moving everything with the wheelbarrow. Should have pulled the splitter to the stacks, but it was a small load, so no biggie.
Hindsight....it'll kill ya'.

How far of a drive ?
Enough trees need to come down that you'll get a few cord ?

I'm getting confused ? (Old enough that it's OK though ) LOL :)
Is the splitter at home, SIL's place or Daughter's place?

I'll type slower Dave.;lol
The storm that came through took down the hard maple at my daughter's, the Maple I cut up today at my sis-in-law's, and the pine that came down here.
The splitter is here at my house.
There's a whole lotta' wood at Bev's sister's place. She's got 10 acres, and about 6-7 are woods with mostly Oak and Maple. Jackpot! I took some last year, and need to get more this year. It's been tough with everything else that's going on this year, but I'm chugging away. Her place is only about 4-5 miles from here. Nice and close.
I have a plan (when I get the tractor and trailer back) to take both trailers, the tractor, and maybe the splitter over there and get to work.
My brother and I will be building her a breezeway between the house and garage starting next week, so I don't know how much energy I'll have to cut wood.

c'mon.....lots of hours in a day to build the living room, build a wheelbarrow, build a kettle, cook corn, cut down some trees, split and stack said trees......
Oh, wait a second, I was just having a flashback nightmare for a second....

I did a couple of those today, wood and corn. The rest of my time had already been allotted for coffee and beer. ==c

I'm wondering, too. He didn't refer to it as hard Maple, like he did the other stuff, so I'm guessing you're right.
